I am afraid that FFXIV has been ruined by politics....it's worth to search for changes in the team between the end of SHB and DT.
    Unfortunately.

Wokism aside, she say it's healthy for a translator to put their own view in the game regardless of other people opinion. That person now replaced Koji Fox and helped other people like her find a role (e.g Wuk Lamat english VA).
It's dangerous to think that you know better than anyone else more experienced by itself. Arrogance is already killing FFXIV.

As much as I don’t like the MSQ and Wuk Lamat I think it is kinda normal?

She is the Dawnservant after all so her being mentioned is more or less normal.

Now what I take issue with is twofold:

    1. Koana not being mentioned nearly as often despite being Dawnservant as well.
    2. Us just being mentioned as her “retainer” or similar even when directly being talked to. Makes it like we aren’t even a person.

I do agree though that she is even mentioned in things where there is no need for that like side quests or even quest texts or the minstrel.

Heurchefant is truly overdone I agree, but I don't ever remember having a Haurchefant jumpscare in a beast tribe quest or a voiced dialogue during an allience raid going "Wow isn't haurchefant so cool!"

also wouldn't it be more weird if a city state leader wasn't mentioned by her people
    like come on lol
she's one of the two rulers who was just recently put in that position of power and went off to prevent the city from being attacked again

No it wouldn't be weird for her to be not mentioned, the fact that she is mentioned is weird. "Wuk Lamat chose well" is a pretty damn weird way to compliment our actions.

And we are here with him as individuals on an investigation into an anomaly, we are not doing something in Wuk Lamat's name. During the rite of succession that sort of wording would have somewhat made sense. But "[Someone] chose well" is a compliment you give to a subordinate of someone, like if someone was complimenting the prowess of a maelstrom commander by saying "Merlwyb chose well".

He knows us directly because we pulled Wuk Lamat's ass out of the fire when he kidnapped her, and we made him afraid without even beating him up.

It is entirely weird for him to compliment us that way, as it simultaneously praises Wuk more than it does us.

She's not here. Her judgment had nothing to do with getting our aid, that was Erenville's judgment. Her judgment has nothing to do with our strength. There is 0 reason to praise her.

It'd be way cooler if he realized we were the ones that killed the other Blessed Sibling in Wanderer's Palace HM and said something like, "No wonder Manxome Molaal Ja Ja didn't make it home..."

But no, this is Dawntrail, so they have to take every opportunity to fellate Wookiee Lamar.
