    Blizzard is stealing SE ideas......BUT

They are making them SO MUCH BETTER! I tried WoW's "Trust system" and bruh... you can actually give them orders like have the Tank Take the lead and just pull mobs

Now they about to do Housing... I wonder what improvements they going to do.

YoshyP Take notes and DO BETTER!

All MMOs take inspiration from each other so I wouldn't exactly call it stealing. It will, however, be interesting to see what Blizzard do with player housing given that they're pretty much the last major MMO that'll be implementing this system. Plus given that they're still the main MMO on the market, not having XIV's FOMO mechanics in their housing systems could become a nice stick to use against Square Enix in getting some tangible changes to XIV's housing system. Whatever happens, the FFXIV players still need to write proper feedback and suggestions in the channels recommended by the developers.

You can give orders to squadrons. The reason you can't give orders to Trusts is because you aren't their commander; you are their friend. This was the exact reasoning provided by Yoshi-P in one of his hundreds of interviews over the years.

Everyone wants to paint the housing FOMO as a "tactic" by SE. But that's giving them way too much credit. It's completely due to incompetence in the ability to create a dynamic housing system that actually provides enough houses for everyone. In a way they provide a lot across all the worlds (including low pop worlds), but they don't allow you to travel between housing areas of different physical machines and get a house on them seamlessly, which results in too much demand on the most populated worlds. The result of this is players without a house demand a FOMO system to remove "inactive" house owners so they can get a house themselves.

They've done it already because squadrons have commands and in solo battles for the MSQ, all your team have run ahead and done their thing automatically, so it would just be attaching those two things together. They chose not to. Most likely because they see the "button" as you approaching the boss so that the tank can pull it.

If they did this, you could let it go and fight all the bosses while you're AFK which is unattended gameplay. The current method makes it simple to just stop and read lore or appreciate the area as well, without needing to press any buttons.

    Jeeq always has an excuse

But like how FFXI was basically a trove of stolen ideas from Everquest by SE's own admission, FFXIV is basically a host of stolen ideas from WoW, also by SE's own admission, so it's fair that they steal a little back.

The problem is that every change to the housing system is just addressing the first step in front of them and not having any foresight as to what could occur several steps further along.

They'd need to drastically rethink and reimplement the housing system from scratch to actually give us any ground breaking changes at this point. Not to mention Yoshi-P seemingly thinks the ward system is great because it creates that community feeling... even though wards are empty 99% of the time bar a totally new and original RP venue opening every so often.

Island Sanctuary was arguably the opportunity to do that but instead they gave us content with less depth than a Facebook browser game from 2011. At least they let us place outdoor furnishings around some areas of our island to appease some people towards the end of Endwalker... before then it was just as bad as the Garrisons from Warlords of Draenor.

When I saw they were doing warbands and to a smaller extent dragon flight (mechanic) I was like ... Is blizzard doing what they used to do best? The bugs in TWW are not awesome, let's be fair lol, but I feel at the moment that WoW / Blizzard is hungrier than FFXIV. There are some things that I still definitely bias to FFXIV but if FFXIV remains steady the pace / silent then they're going to get lapped imo. Especially if WoW targets those specific items that FFXIV is doing well.

Their housing will be more a GW2 copy, FF14 is terrible if you think about it. Without the help of the cousins that help you glitch item or move them closer you can only do really basic looks.
