I hope they show love and attention to battlefields and bring back more FFXI styled battlefields -- For example Nael's battlefield screamed of Walk of Echos, a beautiful type of surreal battlefield -- A 'shot from space" and a giant crystal can lead to another Abysses Empyreal Paradox or Empyreal Paradox type battlefield in the future -- That for the sake of argument was space as well since in Empyreal Paradox you looked down on Vanadiel, specifically above Qufim

In Abyssea's version you're looking at monstered infected Vanadiel from the moon where Al`Taieu was relocated, so if anything, they could actually do someting surreal with a setting like that.

When it zoomed out to earth, the only thing that went through my mind was:
"THIS is how mmos SHOULD be (People literally working together from around the world)

Person 1 says "oh this trailer gives me the final fantasy feeling I've been waiting for"
Person 2 repeats it
Person 3 feels he's left out so he says the same thing...

Personally, the first trailer is better, with the exception of the voice. The first trailer reveals what will happen and how, who are the heroes and who are the antagonist. This trailer doesn't show much at all.

Personally, I don't think it matters too much about what they 'show' us with a CG teaser. We'll get the story, characters, maps and battle system when we get it. Probably next week. No worries.

For me, it's more about how it feels; what a single, short final fantasy trailer can do to the hairs on my neck. For me, this trailer proves a bit more that they really are making things differently.

It feels like it's got hand crafted final fantasy polish all over it. That's what's been missing from 1.0 all the way through.

The voice-over speaks waaaaaaaaay to slow. Makes her sound a bit lame. Other than that I liked this trailer much more than the second one.

Yes, - I - agreeeeee!

She - does speak - veeeery slooooowlyy, - as if to draaag out - each - syllable -- to match the timing - of the onscreen cuues.

Sometimes she adds - AWKWARD EMPHASIS - as a further means - of elongating - her speech.


Narration aside, I love this trailer. Actually, I felt the same way about the first one. These are some awesome trailers, and you can feel the passion that the dev team has for the ARR project as you watch. It's infectious, to be honest. I can't wait to start up 2.0!

The music was great. I'm not sure if I'm supposed to be seeing something different from the first trailer or not, but the first trailer was great except for the voiceover. In fact, the remixed version using Inception music was awesome.

Well they listened to us and changed the voiceover .... it still feels a little ... idk dramatic. And a lot of the CGI scenes are the same. Compare to the first one Link. Which do you think is better?

I think the new voice is better, but still a little out of place. And the first trailer had a lot more drama and tension, maybe in the storyboarding of the scenes or the music.

Though the voiceover for trailer #2 seemed to be a bit too melodramatic I liked both. I believe that they accomplished the goals Yoshi-P outlined in his letter. I suspect that we will see a lot more information and media after the completion of Alpha testing. Can't wait.

meh. I liked the first trailer better- not the voice over mind you, just CGI. It was far better paced than this one.

Watching trailer #2 I felt a bit lost as to what exactly was going on? I didn't quite see what Yoshida was talking about in "it shows the worlds of the current version and the future version side by side in a way that hasn’t been done before". I was looking for it. I thought I saw it a few times but if that was it then it was really weak.

Trailer #1 made way more sense in that respect. Also, the reuse of CGI was something I could do without. I think that part cheapened it since the reuse was so obvious.

Moreover, why does the narrator speak so slowly? Why does she read the words on the screen? It's like superfluous voice is superfluous. If at least she didn't speak so slowly I wouldn't have that much of a problem with her. =\

All in all, nice try SE but you'll just have to try harder next time.
