You open the door theres nothing in sight. You close the door wondering whats in sight. But lets be honest its probably gonna just let you down.

Bro said there isn't plenty to do then discredited a bunch of things that are in the game available for him to do. It's just not shit you wanna do, which is fair, but come on now. There's more than I will ever be able to do in this game, and I'm cool with that.

99% of the content its PVE and yet Square somehow decided to make jobs the most boring/generic ones.

Storywise this trajectory started with Zenos and him being used to gut the political in the stry.
Gameplay-wise it's cause the devs seems to prefer playing safe, a tad too safe.

I said it many times, the removal of exploratory zone hurt the game very badly. Despite the "go play other games" team pretending FFXIV is not designed to be a game where you sink hours, an engagement content build to last has always been part of the game. The relicks in ARR, the relics and Diadem 1.0 in HW, Eureka in SB, Bozja Zadnor in ShB. There always was content for people that wanted to sink a lot of time in the game, engough to keep you occupied with the game if you didn't want to go play other game. You could argue on the quality of the content and it could be improved, but it was there, and filled the role of "keeping the middle 15-80 percentile wanting to even come back".
With that gone, the game has basically been in crisis since the release of 6.3, and SE still decided to go the "business as usual" route. Disappointing, but not really surprising from SE.
Job design and balancing might be problems, but I feel people overestimate their importance. Even if those were perfect, we would still be bored because there would be nothing to do with those perfect jobs.
