With Microsoft taking over and their deep pockets, the WoW team has received a lot of cash infusions along with the removal of corporate interference in the game.

I am watching what is going on over there with curiosity.

A lot of the higher ups that only care about money are still there even after the buyout. Recent patches have been rushed out as awful buggy messes and the cash shop is just as bad as FF14's.

Very much so. Blizzard's been so stingy with giving out cosmetics in WoW and OW2 lately and much rather sell them for real life money, they'll definitely monetize the hell out of housing.

Ffxiv has a cash shop for housing items, dyes, mounts, glams, orchestrions, emotes, HOUSING ITEMs, level and story skips, retainer skips, 5 euro inventory space addition + extra return point and remote marketboard albeit limited to kupo nuts. Dont remember if you can buy those for cash too.

It's not just housing that's coming to WoW. Blizzard is also launching a completely new game and judging by the trailer, it's actually pretty good. The new game is called Avowed. And my first thought was, I'm totally in.

I mean its literally the truth.
This game is built on a engine that has so many limitations and changing that is basically remaking the game.

Meanwhile WoW is built on over a 20 years old engine without much limitations.

In all my years playing WoW, I never really saw anyone bringing up the engine unless it's the same talk as (We need WoW 2 to fix the game direction and start fresh again!)

People forget when they made ARR they looked at WoW and other competitors. He even made the devs play WoW. You look at what your competition does at all times, put your own twist on things and INNOVATE. Hell sometimes you even straight up steal content and make it better.

They are not focusing on WoW. They have content coming, but the game is not being maintained well. They have a dozen other projects, and WoW is literally falling apart, data being lost, and content is inaccessible. They have been laying off like crazy this year.
