So the NPCs don't like it when I sell them 1000+ belts I am using to skill up on? I kinda feel bad now.. a littleActually... this is the result of a bug that will be fixed in patch 1.23a!
Don't worry, your favorite merchant NPCs will soon be back to saying things like "Hey, I sure love buying your random items!" and "Wow, you again? Really, I don't want anymore of the stuff filling your bag..." and who can forget "Please... I can't afford to buy items from you anymore, I have a family..." and so on.
Last I checked in FFXIV we had an inventory. Please don't tell me our community reps are WoW players :/

2.0 is switching over to a bag system (or something close enough) if I recall correctly. He's just staying ahead of the trends!
Inventory is a collection items, a list if your prefer.
A bag is container. Where do you put your inventory? In a bag, most likely, as you are an adventurer.
Bayohne is right.
LOL cash shop! SE's way to tell their player how they appreciate them... pull the carrot and empty your pockets $$$
And to those who support it: you are kicking yourselves. -- We just need to sit back and laugh at people with cash shop items.
(Marvelous economics IQ test!)
I've never seen a bug like this.
Harmless but still, wtflol
