Well then haha that is really weird to leave a game up and running for that long with no updates..
Surely they must have something else up their sleeve![]()

question...did you make your sig or did you get it from a site? It's kind of awesome.
Healer strike is ridiculously foolish and accomplishes nothing

2.0 alpha/betas for PC will begin around late September-ish.
Alpha and several closed betas (which Yoshi has said multiple times he wants to be as short as humanly possible) will probably lead to the PC release of the game first, sometime in Winter, with the PS3 launch to follow early 2013.
That's my guess.

I have seen nothing from Yoshi-P saying that the time frame for the roadmap has been altered. Just the opposite. They insist that they are on schedule. To me that means that Ver 1.0 will shut down in late Sept/early Oct followed almost immediately with the distribution of the Ver 2.0 client to current subscribers in early Oct.
Sometime in late Oct/Early Nov <after completition of Alpha and closed Beta> the limited free trial period <open Beta?> begins. Closed Beta for the PS3 is scheduled for this time.
Sometime shortly after the first of the year the free trial period will end and the game will be sold to new subscribers on both the PC and the PS3. I imagine the date will be set when all the data is collected from the open Beta and the necessary patches are developed.
With this in mind I suspect the there will only be a 2 month downtime for current subscribers which is in line with Yoshida-san's oft stated opinion that he wants the shortest downtime for current subscribers.
Til I see a revised roadmap from him I will go by the one currently posted.

All these people jumping to conclusions and panicking are just bored and have nothing to do in game. The game is on track according to Yoshi-p. Most people seem to be forgetting about that ps3 beta and launch, and assume those later dates are for the pc.

During the downtime, we won't have access to the game or what?

In the downtime You will have no access to 1.0 content and potentially no access to 2.0, the current information regarding closed beta is a select number of players will be able to beta test. The max downtime you could have will be a month or so, not much longer than the downtime in march 2011 when the tsunami hit Japan.
