Point and laugh, but I rage quit because we died like 15 times. I don't want to go back. I'll wait until the next expansion, I guess. It sucked. I havent rage quit anything since Orbonne, so there's that.

I found this raid horrifically boring the entire way through. I suppose it could be due to me having never played XI, but I had never played a DrakenNier game when I did the first two Nier raids and I had a blast with them.
I look just like the roes next door... if you happen to live next door to an amusement park.

It was very mid. The scenery was great to look at. The fights were forgettable. Felt like the bosses repeated the same 3 mechanics a dozen times, perhaps to avoid a near future issue of people missing out on mechanics once people out-gear the fights like what happened in Myths of the Realm.
I still have to run it again on my second character, maybe it is burnout, but I'm not really excited nor in any rush to do so.

I understand the frustration of those wiping 5+ times or more and people abandoning the instance. However, I will say, I think this is quite rare. In all my years of playing the game, I have never seen this happen, even in week one, for any alliance raid. I'm sure it does happen, don't get me wrong, but I do think these were also unusually unskilled and unlucky parties. I've noticed that the few players who have reported this are all on Dynamis. It could be a total coincidence, but the few times I've ended up in a shockingly terrible party doing daily roulettes in DF, it's when I'm trying to run content on my Dynamis character. I don't know what it is, but I swear that DC is cursed some days.
For everyone else who thinks this raid is too difficult: Wiping a few times during the first week or so of a new Alliance Raid is normal. Expected, even. We're all learning the new mechanics on the fly, and most players are not at max IL gear either. It will get easier with both practice and better gear (for better or worse). It was actually quite abnormal how few wipes there were when Myths of the Realm first dropped. Pretty much every previous raid I saw more wipes on and, if anything, still see the occasional wipe compared to the 6.x series Alliance raids. But please remember that while this is meant to be the kind where you can jump in and play without any preparation, easily accessible content, it is still a raid. It's a step-up in difficulty from dungeons and Trials. It's supposed to be. Genuinely, if you think these raids are too difficult and don't want any of the game play and just want the story, then please consider watching a streamer playing the game or look up YouTube recordings of the raid, or even just wait a month or so for everyone to have better gear and know the fights more so it's easy to get carried even if you mess up. No one is owed an easy, frictionless, stress-free experience at the cost of ruining everyone else's fun, especially after so much midcore content has been eroded from the game over the last few years(and I wouldn't call this midcore content even, just the higher end of normal difficulty content).

Same feeling of nostalgia walking through those different zones and dread from the final bosses ! I love those raids, Ivalice was awesome and this one looks very promising so far![]()

It was really difficult the first time i was in, for myself at least.
I did understand some mechanics on the fly but the sword circle indicators are really hard to see fully imho. Maybe i am just blind idk.
Why is there no visible wind on the high plateau in the raid? No wind in hair or clothes of the WoLs. Thats my biggest gripe i have with the raid.
Other then that, thanks for the, in MY opinion, really difficult raid. As everything gotta need time to adjust and learn.
Thank you from my part.
its funny how its on repeat. everytime something new gets released there are people who think its too difficult.
we dont have to look that far back. remember arcadion? there were people too who thought its too difficult and now with more experience and ilvl its suddenly very easy.
in some circles you can see this happening for dungeons as well xD
and yes i died and wiped too in this raid. i actually joined a blind premade alliance from a community with mostly weaker players... we wiped several times and run out of time. its alright though, its just a game. it was fun anyway. great raid!
its the kind of fun you cant get anywhere in the game because dungeons are too easy and too small scale and savage has these high precision body check mechanics, which isnt that much fun either

Do we need accessibility at level 100 though? No I don't think the content is anything like Savage having ran a number of Savages myself and regularly participating in Extreme runs with my FC. I also didn't compare the Alliance Raid to Savage either, I simply said if players want a challenge we have those modes in game already.
I found the Raid quite fine, enjoyable actually but I also understand that it may not be as accessible as a lot of players would like. In an ideal world I would like for all parties to have content they can engage in, it's ok to have relaxed stress-free daily and weekly duties and have content that gives challenge... I'm not advocating for removal of challenge, I'm advocating for content for all levels of play.
I get that some people have problems with the difficulty but it is not different than past A-Raids in stormblood (or even Puppets bunker at launch I would say).
The EW raids and lots and lots of crystal tower have just set a false pretense of what an A-Raid is in my opinion.
Extreme and Savage exist but A-Raids are below that in difficulty as is this one. I think it is in a good spot right now.
Intermittent content between Dungeons and Extremes.
I would even say that the people who cleared it while thinking it was too difficult are far better at the game than they think. Casual yes but absolutely not bad players.
The problems people have is that they did it week 1. Wipes are normal there.
I don’t think the opinions of it being too hard for some are wrong (I can kinda understand it?) but personally I think DT is the difficulty an MMO should have at level 100.
TLDR:
I think players are better than they think and heavily underestimate how good they are at this game.
My opinion on the Raid.
It was great, my new favorite even.
The mechanics were fun, the story interesting (I didn’t play 11) and all in all just great.
Best content in DT right now for me.
I really have to give praise for the devs here.
All I can say is we died multiple times on every boss. I rage quit on the last one. I'm not going to go back until it's hilarious easy because of gear. I don't care anymore. It wasn't a fun experience.
Sounds like you're not giving yourself much of a chance
Nobody's gonna be perfect on their first run
