More roadmaps and communication from the devs, please!

Watching WoW teasing housing for the next expac, and give out a solid roadmap for patches it really got me thinking.

This mysterybox way of not revealing anything was charming at the start, I hate datamining and spoilers from players.
But at the same time, could they communicate more honestly and openly about their plans in the open instead of "Maybe next expac, please look forward to it, thats a bit difficult but we will try"

I would kill (in minecraft) for an actual roadmap of features and plans. But at the same time, I have a tinfoil hat theory that they arent organized and set up well enough to do that. Or is it just a japanese thing where they dont want to spoil? What are the BIG features they have coming if any?

If they really wanted not to spoil they'd not spoil the whole patch with their gameplay trailers or PLL fight overviews to begin with, so that's not that for sure. They just don't want to talk about anything until presenting us with done deals precisely because their holy schedule cannot be upset by anything unpredictable coming along the way.

While I'd really appreciate more transparency I'm doubtful we'll ever get it.
One the one hand they seem to be afraid of giving us anything that could be construed as a promise or target deadline when it's not already ready to ship for fear of the community harassing them about it.
On the other hand, when they do they're unreliable about it (past PvP season rewards becoming available for Trophy Crystals, that whole thing they might or might not have said about intended features for 2.0 - i.e. housing - that still gets brought up occasionally, the blatantly misleading marketing for DT, half-baked features like new gear still releasing without dye channels when it could have two of them as of 7.0 to just name some examples).

Yeah, thats worriesome in its own right if they dont have the power / staff to promise us something into a proper deadline.
I was honestly waiting for some new "OOMPF" feature for Dawntrail. But I guess its slowly trickling graphical updates, chat bubbles and housing furniture limits?

Krile marketing was a blatant lie. The new "remove pillars for housing" option pigeonholes you into choosing just one option that also dyes half of your walls white without you being able to dye them. Same with underneath the modern looking stairs and blaring white ceilings.
