First of all, the bugs:
- Reaper's Perfectio ignoring invulnerabilities
- Astro's Macrocosmos somehow becoming a party-wide cooldown
- Purify occasionally just decides to not work
- Some of the new VFX bugging through terrain
The questionable balancing decisions:
- Astro has been buffed into the stratosphere
- Monk has been gutted and relegated to throwing fireballs
- Increasing Reaper's LB cooldown in Frontlines but for some reason giving Dancer accelerated charge and lower cooldown
- What the hell even happened to Black Mage?
- There's all types of new crowd control.. and they decide to nerf Purify's duration? Okay then I guess..
- Someone thought Assasinating on Ninja through Guard and then LB'ing them was fine? (I speak as a Ninja main but even this is more bullcrap than Im used to)
The loss of class identity:
- My beloved Red Mage
- GNB Junction
THE INCREDIBLY JANKY ANIMATION LOCK
(You know how when try to weave oGCDs between GCDS and some oGCDS get lost and act as if they didnt get pressed?)
- How did it become even worse than before? Spamming recup or trying to purify in an intense situation is impossible because a ghost eats 50% of your actions
THE INCREDIBLY JANKY ACTION TIMINGS
- Why the hell, does Guard, the reactive protection tool, have a delay of 1 to 2 seconds? They made it more of a reactive tool because of all the new Guard-piercing actions but make it harder to react to things?!
- Tying every single effect of an action to it's animations , whilst it makes sense I guess, turns gameplay into wading through a mudfield. Did they playtest this at all, and did the devs actually enjoy it?
- THE HIT REGISTRATION THAT TAKES 3 BUSINESS DAYS (Hyosho Ranyuu went from 0.6 seconds to 1.9 seconds to register damage. WHY.)
- This leads to actions that give CC effects being inconsistent as heck, such as Sam binds now being so delayed that you can just walk away from the followup. It's like they saw Viper as their best designed PVP kit ever and decided to make it like that.
WHY is DAMAGE REGISTRATION tied to something animators thought looked cool like two years ago???? They wanted to make it more consistent and only made it consistently crap across all classes. Thanks monkey's paw!
I'll give one to them, I actually really enjoy the new actions and the fact that the meta in fls is moving away from drk, but I really do not want to see the 4 AST stack meta. Honestly, I'm fine with everything else, my number one grievance is the hit registration and the animation lock, those two things together hit me like a truck on day one. I understand if they don't change the hit registration but
FIX THE GOD DAMN ANIMATION LOCKS.
