A Holmgang is a dueling island, yes? Just replace the snare effect with a new effect such that if the WAR leaves a circular 'island' while the effect is active, then the WAR dies in disgrace. That would partially justify the extremely short recast with no true downside.

A homgang isn't the island itself but the practice of an honor duel often held on small islands.
It still makes thematic sense to create a small box in which the effect applies however, since the dueling area in a holmgang was around 9-12 square foot.
