"I want to play the game but there's nothing to do"if you don't like doing those things either then simply unsub and do something else. in fact, i think that would be the best case scenario for people complaining about "lack of content"... use your money as your vote. if enough people do it, something will have to change... or it won't, and the game will die. it's really a simple situation.
"Don't play the game"
Great solution. Definitely solves the problem.
there's clearly something to do, they said it right there in their post. rp and clubbing. there you go. that's playing the game. if the content is boring to you, then don't do it? i really don't see the problem here.
It's the same as always for me. I play whatever is current in the patch and gets released, progging older ultimates. If I get bored, I play BG3 ( I still gotta do other origins except Dark Urge), Divinity 2, Star Rail, and GW2.
AFKing in someone's house while a DJ streams music on Twitch is not content. If you're willing to stretch the definition of content this far then they might as well just stop developing new expansions because the players should be content with just idling in Limsa, right?
How about you just let people vent about things that they're unhappy with instead of trying to run damage control for the devs?
i didn't say it was content. i said it was playing the game, which it is. venting that there is 'nothing to do' does less to fix your situation than voting with your sub and going to do something else that actually does spark joy.AFKing in someone's house while a DJ streams music on Twitch is not content. People want to do battle content. We all spend 100 levels unlocking skills, buttons to push, and then when we arrive at the end, there is no reason to push those buttons outside of a couple of boss fights that you can clear reasonably quick. (Ultimate being the exception here)
Relegating the "what content to enjoy" question to user made activities is defending and excusing a developer unable (or unwilling) to push long lived content in an MMORPG out on an earlier date.
You simply wait a year+ for the "expansion with the most content ever!" to actually be out.
Probably would take a casual player a week or two to get through all the casual-content quests.
Weekly 24 Alliance. 1 hour per week - maybe less once people learn.
New Dungeon will be fun until everyone has it on mindless memory farm. Gear is pointless - especially with 910 gear not having limits now and having access to 920 tome gear for a while now.
Dailies if you barely play and don't have things levelled. Like...10 minutes a day?
Some new PVP cosmetics may take a few weeks to farm once a day if you only do the daily roulette.
-----------
Higher end players will probably get more milage with the upcoming raids, but they may replace that with some of the less useful farms the casuals spend time on.
I think a typical player might get up to 1 month of fun before it's repetitive/boring. Waiting an extra 3-4 months is going to be hard.
Just doing something else definitely does less to communicate your dissatisfaction with a product than posting on their official forums.
Also, I would love to unsub during content droughts but I can't without losing my houses and FC subs. Yoshi-P loves to tell us "it's ok to take a break" but they attach an incredibly high price to cancelling your sub.
