Since updating to Patch7.1 Game keeps crashing after trying to start the game

I'm using the steam version of FFXIV. Since updating to 7.1 my game starts up with a black screen, won't respond before booting me back to my desktop. Before the patch I was able to play without any problems.

I've tried everything from uninstalling/reinstalling, updating drives but upto now nothing seems to work. Anyone else experiencing these issues, or does anyone have a fix.

Same! But with the launcher version. I hope this gets addressed or some sort of fix comes up.

I use the launcher version as well and it crashes after getting to the loading screen. Uninstalling and reinstalling didn't fix it. Hope it gets fixed soon.

EDIT:Just launched the game and everything seems to be working!

Same is happening to a friend

We tried everything, deleting the settings file, deleting all the game files, and re-installing it to disable all other programs running at the same time, re-installing the game, repairing the game, and still couldn't join any queue, as soon as we queue the game crashes and says an error has occurred. We are lost now as this is happening to one of our static members and we can't raid together any longer since the new patch.

Same thing is happening to a friend. It's important to note she's only had this computer since early March. Every major patch we go through the entire trial of: repairing the patch files, uninstalling and reinstalling the game, making sure all updates (graphics or otherwise) have been completed, and even resetting her computer back to factory to try and resolve the endless loop.

Normally that last bit fixes it, but this round she's stuck. We've been playing for years but this is the first expansion we've had this issue. I'm assuming AMD and Direct X11 are NOT fans of the updated graphics with the game. Its very frustrating.
