As much as housing is essentially a sub-trap, I enjoy my 2 virtual storage boxes. It's neat that as of 7.1, we can change interiors to the minimalist design or any of your choosing.
Apartments are snubbed from this.

When we eventually get the item limits bumped, i'm sure apartments will be snubbed from that too.

Small House with Larger interior future update? Nah, Apts likely won't get that either.

For people who want instanced housing, the solution already exists. Right there, IN GAME. But RIP, you're stuck with a 100 item limit closet because; Apts are just another abandoned piece of content that won't recieve any more updates.

Whenever item limits have gone up in the past they've gone up for apartments, as well, for what it's worth.

Not extending remodeling to apartments and chambers is a bit of a head-scratcher, though, for sure.

My guess is that it's a coding thing of some kind, just looking at how the remodel feature functions.
Maybe we'll get it with time, but I'm not going to hold my breath. It's disappointing.

Could also be it gets released later on with the furnishing limit expansion or when the interior space upgrades sometime in 7.4 or later comes along. Maybe they surprise us with using the interior of Solution 9 I would love for an apartment. I hope apartments would also be allowed to upgrade their size and maybe limit them to the space of the main floors of cottages, houses and mansions since apartments are one floor only.

Another reason I wish they had already implemented different apartment sizes by now… I mean maybe some people want to go to their apartment/FC room and have a mansion inside, but I really wanted to see different sizes and layouts for apartments you could switch between. It’s sad they’re not included in the style change feature somehow. But I’m really hopeful with all that space on the UI that we’ll eventually get more variety of layouts to choose from, and that the feature will get added to apartments/FC rooms.

Just wondering though, how does the interior style change work in FC rooms? If the FC house gets changed to another style, are the FC rooms just the default neighborhood instead of following the house’s interior? Maybe they ran into some sort of issue where it couldn’t process the rooms because of how all the stuff needs to go into storage when the style changes for some reason, and they probably thought it would be a nightmare trying to get everyone in your FC to get enough storage space at once. But you wouldn’t think there would be that issue with apartments so I don’t know. I don’t understand why they just didn’t use the same process as relocation when moving from a larger size to a smaller size, where it just gets squished into the storage without regards to limit and then you have to start taking stuff out before you’re able to place anything new.

I would think they would want to expand on the features that Apartments/FC rooms can offer as a decent alternative to an actual house since those can be difficult to get, so it is certainly disappointing that the new interior changes are not available for them.
