    Racial background info

I remember a dev post a while back that gave us some insight on the Roegadyn naming conventions, using the admiral of Limsa Lominsa's name as an example, and that got me thinking about how the naming conventions for the other races work, the meaning behind the names of Hyur, Lalafell, Elezen, ect. I'd also like to know more about their cultures and what have you, the descriptions on the official site are good and all but I feel there's more to it than what's let on. Lastly, i'm also curious about racial height differences and such, like how tall would the tallest hyur be in feet-inches, etc? Some more info on the races like what I said would be greatly appreciated!

There's some info on where the races originally came from on the teaser site.

But what is there else to know about the races, when clearly lalafel are the best? :P

Yeah, for example it says that all of the races except for the Elezen came to Eorzea when the oceans were frozen over, and the Hyur and Elezen had a short lived conflict with the Hyur because they felt they were being invaded by them and stuff. More info though would be really nice imo.

I miss how Tarutarus had hilarious naming schemes. Lalafells seem to lack that charm :|

I know, but I feel that sort of charm is still there somewhat, like there's one lalafell NPC that speaks in rhymes somewhere.

Lalafell names follow a weird naming scheme. Repetitive syllables in both the given and surname. It makes them sound like children.

the game is lacking in this department and i think its partly because cities are shared by different races.
in most MMOs each city = 1 or 2 specific races
and usually the city quests give some info on the races residing in it.
even the empire is a mix of different races but that maybe duo their "children brainwash" process

This is seriously needed in this game. I know it sounds awful, but this game could use a little more... racism? Or at least NPCs of other races making snide or candid references to other races history or mannerisms.

Also I miss the speech quirks, for example the Mithra and Tarutaru, where Mithra would roll their "r"s and Tarutaru would end things in "-aru" or say adjectives like "careful-wareful"

As it is now it seems that speech mannerisms and behavior are tied more heavily to city-states, and that's alright, but beyond that it'd be nice to have NPCs that sounded and behaved differently based on race and the race of otherpeople around them.

Also Duskwight? Dunesfolk? Hellsguard? There's no cave civilizations, no dunes, no volcanic regions, nothing to support these sub-race's origins. It'd be nice if Seekers of the Sun and Keepers of the Moon even mentioned something about the sun or moon.
