Halatali post duty support isn't changed much at least not in trash packs. You don't get the flame adds on the 1st boss. It does have aoes now. 2nd boss has no adds and even though you do still need to get out of the electrified water you can damage the boss. I'm not sure if the final boss's shield only goes down after you deal with the marching flames or not. As I just helped the one duty support npc that was dealing with one side alone. It looks as though the only ones they're touching are the ones that are part of the leveling. So no "Hard mode" or post .0 optional dungeons if you go and look at the duty support dungeon list.
We got unending codex entries for Gulool Ja Ja, Tural, The Rite of Succession and Tural Vidraal.
yeah, that is the wrong way to phrase the critizism ^^
(although that also critizses the how indirectly, too)

Mandatory 10 Char bleh!-------------------------------------------------------------------
patch 7.1 MSQ
As for the ending itself, it looks like we may meet the real Sphene in 7.2. Not the Sphene we know in 7.0 who was a AI copy but the actual Sphene herself since she does not know what the Living Memory is.
The Real Sphene showing up has actually been hinted well back with both how we find the Original Otis in his mechanical body with his original soul/memories and encounter his duplicate in Living Memory later on as well as some garbled hints at the end of the Alexandria Dungeon that the original Sphene still existed (suggesting they'd successfully preserved her) and in this case it's possible the Original Sphene was stored in the system as a master backup incase things went sideways and who got released when the whole Meso System shutdown hence why when they shift to her PoV at the end of the MSQ she seems not only confused at her surroundings but seems to hint that she doesnt feel like her body is right either and likely could be in the same situation as the Original Otis was before his demise, her endless doppelganger that we fight was in fact a complete copy of her. As for her "evil twin" that shows up in Alexandria it's either the remains of the original system trying to reinitialise itself using a copy of sphene or another entity entirely using her form to take control of Alexandria for their own ends.
7.1 msq ending again
I think there's a 0% chance that the Sphene in Solution Nine is in any way, shape, or form made from any part of the previous Sphene. As Wuk Lamat pointed out, the real Sphene would absolutely not offer immortality to only 5,000 of her people. If for some reason there was no other option, she would be distraught and apologetic about it, not chipper. My money is on either some remnant of Preservation, an Ascian (wouldn't it be funny if it was Pashtarot after all?), or both.

Well I expect we will meet her in some way but did not expect to actually meet her in 7.X directly. However, a interesting note from 7.0 is that....
we never ever see the Real Sphene in the final MSQ dungeon. We are always too far away or too late to actually meet and see the real Sphene so it is possible the real Sphene may have a completely different appearance but personality and values remain the same minus the part she will sacrifice the life of a entire civilization. I suspect part of the reason we are not shown Sphene appearance at the end is maybe because of this apsect about how AI Sphene was made being they may have gotten her peronality but they could not properly remake her appearance.

Just finished MSQ - I don't think I'm quite as hot on it as some other people in this thread, but I liked it!
I honestly really love how mundane the answer to Gulool Ja's ancestry ended up being. Everyone was throwing around theories about him being a clone or something wild like that, turns out: nope, his parents just kinda sucked! That felt really real to me, in a way I wasn't expecting. Some really good acting from Zoraal Ja's VA in that little flashback, too - man has a complex, goddamn.
The stuff with Koana was some nice closure too, if a little overly neatly tied up. I think I would have preferred it if they'd left it more vague whether it actually was his parents that the guy was talking about, rather than everyone just immediately accepting it as fact.
Always good to see more Erenville (and his cute new keychain, which I can only assume will be on the merch store any minute now). I don't know if I like his new outfit thoughThe gloves are a bit much.
Fake Sphene is interesting, especially given that, as WL points out, it seems to be acting in a way that's blatantly opposed to the original's ideals. That makes me agree with the others in this thread saying it's some kind of Preservation psyop, rather than a backup being activated or anything like that.
I do worry that this might end up feeling a bit like a do-over of Fake Ardbert from post-Shadowbringers (I was expecting one of the Scions to comment on the fact we'd dealt with something like this before, honestly), but I'll reserve judgement until next patch on that.
MSQ is on hold at least for the day because I'm trying to do a dumb thing and fill the entire key items list, and one of the early quests gave a "gather three notes" task and I need as many of those as I can get right now. (Really I should just put it aside and do it on an alt who hasn't cleaned up so many of the older sidequests, but eh...)
Pelupelu quests are unremarkable as of yet, and I was expecting something in Urqopacha with the Chirwagur, but should at least give some more language-translation trivia.
Alliance raid
The XI connection isn't a drawcard for me so the raid itself just feels really disjointed. Not too excited by the outfits so I might be sitting this one out and not bothering with the weekly run.
Plot-wise... I knew there was a good chance Sareel Ja wasn't dead, but wasn't expecting him to turn up here. It also tells us a bit more about the gate, which I had assumed was a direct portal to the Ninth, but it seems you end up in the larger rift along the way? If it wasn't for the external context I might assume that the world he had visions of was the Ninth before the apparent Flood of Lightning, though the different names for races would suggest not.
I like the detail of Alxaal ending up with a Mamool Ja name (more or less) because he was named by one, though I assume it is somewhat coincidental that it looks like a name and not just a word. (Mamool Ja names in Japanese don't have the final "L" they have in English, but Alxaal still does.)
The auction felt so wedged in for the sake of it. Was it some kind of nostalgia hit for XI players or just an unnecessary tone shift?
Bakool Ja Ja feels... flat? I guess the writers may have had to work out what to do with a character who was more popular than they anticipated, but he's just feeling very utility-story-driving now.
As others have noted, Prishe and Alxaal are now wandering. I've only seen them in Earthenshire so far.
Seeing people's reactions to Sphene's death was interesting, even if it felt like just a snippet of it. People process death differently, but Alexandrians are really out there in terms of how they even conceptualize it to begin with, so anything we'd get on that was definitely going to pique my interest.
Getting some more of Gulool Ja's family history was neat, and the dungeon attached to it had some good RE atmosphere. Neat mechanics. Nothing particularly compelling.
Did not care much for Koana's section. It felt a bit disruptive and this did irritate me a bit.
The twist at the end of the patch just had me blinking slowly.
Overall, feeling pretty lukewarm towards this one... but it is a 7.1 patch, so eh...... wasn't expecting much to begin with.
PGY-3 Family Medicine resident.
Constantly learning.
