    7.1 PvP changes are horrible

    Hi everyone,

    I cannot speak Japanese but i have decided to post this on JP forums as i play on JP data center Elemental.. This is my first post, Perhaps this is still against the rules or perhaps no1 cares and will ignore it. It is ok.


    I would like to talk about patch 7.1 PvP changes,mostly regarding Crystaline Conflict. In terms of PvP experience, i have played season 1 all the way to 11 and achieved Crystal every season.

    If you have not played it yet, i would actually suggest trying it out for a few hours first. The reason for that is the patch notes are actually very misleading in terms of what it wants you to believe and what is actually happening in-game.


    1: Oversimplification of combat and its effects on flow of combat:

    Many Jobs have their damage abilities/utilities either outright removed from the game OR it is changed to being on the global cooldown instead of off-global cooldown. Even though most abilities got a slight potency increase, without the abilitiy to do combos with off global cooldowns, damage occurs at a extremely slow interval.


    2: Bad class design

    This should not be a surprise but i would be shocked if any top JP players that plays BLM is happy with 7.1. The class has changed completely in the worst possible way. You can no longer setup huge damage/freeze with super flare because it is gone completely.

    Pre 7.1, you would easily be able to tell the difference between an average BLM, a good BLM and a top 100 BLM. Now? There is barely any difference.

    For some reason, they want to get rid of its weakness to burst damage by giving it heals and damage reduction at the expense of all its offensive capabilities. Why was this re-design needed? The old BLM was very enjoyable and now it is a complete joke.

    This type of horrible changes are also applicable to many other jobs such as red mage. The black/white mana mechanic is completely gone....


    3: Hit detection inconsistet

    This change is supposed to be positive but turned out to be negative. Basically, some abilities are still very slow (White mage cure 3) where even after animation is finished, it takes forever for the heal to go off. There are way too many other examples but square enix is basically picking winners and losers. This is not good.


    There are other pain points but a combination of the above alone made crystaline conflict PvP now very unejoyable. I was having fun and all of a sudden, it feels like it was all taken away just like that with a patch that completely changed the game. I was not prepared or informed of such a change before hand. Maybe i wasn't paying enough attention to the developers. This really sucks but i will retire from the game, for now.

    I do hope japanese players will sound out as you are the only community with contact with the developers. If everyone keeps quiet, all these changes will be here to stay.
    Or perhaps i am the only lone wolf complaining.
