Like wise here, I use a DS4 controller through bluetooth to my ps4 for years and with 7.1 the game cannot even detect it. Work on other games, I restarted pc, restarted the game and even had to reinstall after the game began to crash to desktop.

OS: Window 10 with current updates
Launcher: FFXIV Launcher, not Steam
Connection type: Bluetooth connection
PS4 Controller Model: CUH-ZCT1U and CUH-ZCT2U
- Both worked while still playing 7.0
- "Device Not Located" after 7.1 update
- Computer sees the controllers, other games see/use the controllers, FFXIV cannot see the controllers.
- Controller is detected while connected via USB, but my USB ports are broken so they don't keep connected... so I need the Bluetooth to work.
- PS5 controller (model CFI-ZCT1W) works just fine, Bluetooth and USB.
- I have also tried using a 3rd party exe to see if that would get it to work, DS4Windows - no change
- I should mention the exe was last used years ago before PS4 support was added native to many recent games
- Turned on/off Bluetooth on the computer - no change
- Unplugged and plugged back in the Bluetooth adaptor - no change
- Rebooted computer - no change
100% same issue. DualShock4. Not detected in game. Works fine on everything else. Doesn't work plugged in. Doesn't work via bluetooth. Went through all standard reboots/relogs/reconnect protocols. No change. Worked yesterday no problem.
Also having this issue: PS4 controller on Win 10 PC (not steam) bluetooth wireless is not working for FFXIV. Works with everything else and worked prior to patch 7.1.
system config -> gamepad settings -> device -> "device not located"
For anyone willing to spend the money the PS5 controller IS working wireless.

My 8bitdo Ultimate 2.4G Wireless Controller wont connect either, ive been having this issue with ff from time to time if i connect the controller before starting the game but right now it wont connect at all.
-Or rather it is connected as i can activate the Xbox overlay but i FF does not see it as active.
It also works fine if i use a cable, but the moment i pull it the game will loose the controller...
Same.
Ps4 controller via bluetooth dongle.
Regular XIV launcher version, not steam, for me.
Windows 10.
Worked fine as the servers were shutting down for maintenance, stopped being recognized by the game after maintenance. In controller options in game it says "device not located". Windows definitely recognizes me resync'ing my bluetooth dongle and controller. When I plug the controller in via USB, XIV then "sees" my controller and labels it as wireless even though it is now wired.
Also having the same issue.
Sony Dual shock controller
Model - CUH-ZCT2U
Windows 11 - current on all updates
Connected via bluetooth
FFXIV launcher
This controller worked fine until the patch update. It does work on other games and shows connected to the PC. It will work with FFXIV while wired.
I'm a (non-Steam) Windows 10 player using a Bluetooth dongle and DUALSHOCK®4 controller (model CUH-ZCT2U). Controller worked seamlessly yesterday and upon installing patch 7.1, the game does not recognize my controller through wireless input. In System Configuration > Gamepad Settings, it reads "Device Not Located". Not a PC or controller issue as controllers works with other interfaces/games.
Hello, my wife got the same problem with her dualshock 4.
We resolved the problem with DS4Windows and she has been using an old custom setting in DS4 in case it helps others.
Adding my voice to the rest:
Windows 10 with latest updates
Square's launcher (non-steam)
Bluetooth dongle sits ~30cm from where I usually hold the controller, with nothing in between it and the controller.
Game does not detect DualShock 4 controller (CUH-ZCT2E) via bluetoooth when it did before update, and windows/other games detect it with no issue.
Restarted FFXIV and windows several times.
Tried without DS4Win (ie using windows default functions) and with it presenting the controller as a DS4 with no luck. Exited steam despite not using steam for FFXIV on the off chance that some
Using DS4Win to fool the computer into thinking it's an Xbox 360 controller works, as does connecting the controller via USB (both with and without DS4Win).
So the issue is specifically with FFXIV not detecting DualShock 4 controllers connected wirelessly via bluetooth. Going by reports from other threads and places other controllers seem to be unaffected (Xbox 360, Xbox one and PS5 controllers I've seen mentioned as working like usual)
