I'm guessing by the people still posting in this thread that there hasn't been any luck with the investigation on what could be causing this.

Correct. Personally still using DS4windows as workaround
Any progress on this yet?
They made a post on lodestone about this https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...8c2719df8dbc14 but honestly seems like a middle finger response. I'm confused why PS4 controller support would be ending when it's a supported console for the game? What does "connected properly" even mean? Like we are not supposed to use Bluetooth connections to play on PC? Wired connection of the PS4 controller honestly kind of stinks because it disconnects all the time. At least that's why I never used it in this manner. What is the "specified wireless adapter" and "official connection" procedure? I'm just like![]()
I'm currently playing on Windows 11, dualshock PS4 bluetooth connection.
Controller works fine when connected to USB connection to play the game, but only in FF can i not use the blue tooth option with my PS4 controller. never had this issue before. I do not use steam.
I have two PS4 controllers both are charged and work for other games so it is not the controller.
updated on 7.1 and ever since i had to plug my ps4 controller into a USB port to play the game.
Hey guys, Im having the same issues as all of you, but also none of my controllers are taking a charge whether they are plugged in to my PC or into an outlet. Ive tried 4 different controllers and even purchased a bunch of different cables. Anyone having the same sort of issues?
Thanks for the update; I've been looking here for an official response so I never would have seen it, oops. The "specified wireless adapter" appears to be an official Playstation USB dongle that is no longer manufactured; I found one on eBay for $89.They made a post on lodestone about this https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...8c2719df8dbc14 but honestly seems like a middle finger response. "We would appreciate it if you could consider using another game pad" they say... I have a DualSense controller, but I don't like it for XIV; the trigger design makes it more difficult to double-tap for WXHB access.
Regardless, I'm glad to hear that it'll be fixed. Putting it back to the way it was is all we can reasonably ask for, I guess.

Afraid not; that's weird if it's happening with different controllers and different cables. Are you sure they're dead? Maybe you're just having trouble with Bluetooth pairing?Hey guys, Im having the same issues as all of you, but also none of my controllers are taking a charge whether they are plugged in to my PC or into an outlet. It honestly doesn't make any sense to me at all. I started this game back in the day on PS4, then switched to PC with the controller. If the controller connects to PC through bluetooth seamlessly, why would I go out of my way to find a PS4 wireless bluetooth adapter that they don't even make anymore? It's not official? Like what??? Basically saying, we should all just buy a new controller so they don't have to support the PS4 anymore. The wired connections sucks. It constantly disconnects, getting me killed in dungeons, raids, etc. They made a post on lodestone about this https://na.finalfantasyxiv.com/lodes...8c2719df8dbc14 but honestly seems like a middle finger response. I'm happy they're gonna fix it, but it's only a matter of time before they say they're just not going to support it anymore imo, because it seems they don't actually want to fix it, but are kind of forced to. And the PS5 controller is just too big and heavy for my hands.
Edit: not only is the PS5 controller too big an way to heavy for my hands, I have joint issues. And I'm not about to go out of my way to buy who knows how many controllers to see if a wireless connection would even work. Because I have an 8 bit controller, and that shit doesn't work either.

Issue persisting for anyone else? Even after wired?
