Earlier this year, Yoshi-P gave an interview to Famitsu where he lamented that FFXIV was too stress-free, comparing it to a platformer with no pits to fall into. On a different interview, he also claimed that jobs would should receive more individuality while promising the jobs not to become more simple.
What I see inthe 7.1 job changes however is the exact opposite of this sentiment. Things like the removal of triple Nastrond, the fact that you can now move during Ten Chi Jin, BLM instant despair, or that as a summoner, you can now not drop your Ifrit combo. (and yet they have not worked on RPRs gauge economy). Despite the producers words, CS3 still works to remove friction from jobs.
Really makes me wonder if the producer and the development teams actually talk to one another, and what direction this game wants to go for in the future.
