    complaint post about current dungeons

understandably a lot of people what hard content , totally understand that , however as an older gamer i do need more that a nano-sec between seeing the boom red mark and having to move. i dont do anything like savage or extreme so i just mean regular stuff. to me its crazy that there is no delay for that stuff considering i aint gonna remember every damn dungeon bosses mechanics if i dont que for it for weeks at a time in roulettes. the savage and expert should be where that happens imho. sorry for the rant just had to let it out ty if you read it .

Can you specify which dungeons do you have trouble with?

Usually when the AOE is faster than normal, the tell is something else, such as the physical motions of the boss.

Dungeons with mechanics where orange AOE markers appear with "nano sec between boom red mark and having to move" usually have other indicators that you are supposed to read and learn to get an idea where the AOE is going to be.

This can range from attack names sounding different (example: Coincounter's 100-tonze Swipe is a frontal cone AOE while 100-tonze Swing is a circle AOE around him), general naming convention (left, right, front, behind in the name), the boss changing their stance/movement like raising arms or weapons or other arrows subtly indicating an attack area.

While I understand the desire to keep things simple for the older folks in dungeons for story purposes, it needs to be pointed out that most dungeon mechanics are well telegraphed, just not "here is the entire AOE range throughout the entire casting process" telegraphed. By Lv100 it is expectable to have a degree of intuition about bosses without having to rely on orange AOE markers alone anymore.

what also can help, is have a friend that you usually do things with. you just mark then with Shift F and try to keep an eye on them when things happen

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

On hard fights : Reduce distactions/multitasking, and just focus on ONE task (survival)!
This may sound bad but it workes! -> stop dong any dmg/healing on the most hardest parts, where you struggle with mechs/stay alive.
Like just focus hard on following others who knows mech /or if you see the mechs yourself.

(Note: As healer you can throw out some heals (cds) in advance, rigth before the hard parts..so you can focus more on yourself)

I would like SE to consider dodge-able vs echo-able markers. Echo being a bit lore centric idea to predicting it. Everyone is right that there is almost always a tell, though some are like "you should have known this will be cast at your feet again and again, cause you died last time, why did you stop running" lol. Anyway, echo-able markers would help players realize that they're probably missing something and either won't happen or 'good luck' in dodging it because it wasn't designed to be at that point. This can simply be a different color.

That is why people are asking for more difficult, optional dungeons while keeping the MSQ ones as they are.

If the red lasts for less than 3 seconds, usually there is another way to tell the mechanic is going to happen:

    - Cast name (you can see this by the boss HP bar).
    - Animations the boss does (this is rarely used compared to cast names, but is a thing sometimes).
    - Environmental clues (this requires panning your camera around the entire arena to see what's going on). This has been increasingly common over the years, and is probably what you are struggling with.
    - Patterns (such as one AoE followed by another AoE next to it).

The newest dungeons have a lot of environmental clues and patterns like that, so it's probably what you are struggling with. Ultimately, you just need to look around and try to work out what the "tell" is meant to be rather than always relying on a red indicator.

Generally casts in the game tend to take about 3 seconds to execute and snapshot, even when there's no actual cast bar, even in Savage, so there is likely a tell you're missing.
