    This is pretty much how I view it will be implemented/hope it is implemented.

    DOL's go and farm Aetheryte Rich Crystals from fishing, botanist and Mining.

    Each Crystal has a color cooresponding to a stat. Red Strength, Purple Dexterity, Yellow Vitality etc.

    Disciples of hand take the crystals and cut them into Materia.

    A Player with armor or weapons with a Materia Slot goes to a Crafter and buys the Materia and the crafter places the materia into his armor/weapon in a system similar to the Repair System. Attaching Materia also fully repairs the item. But the item becomes untradable/unsellable in the wards.

    Materia Equipped gives a stat or a trait.

    Red can give Strength, Attack Power, or new traits only available in Materia like Double Attack (A single ability acts as if it hits twice for a chance) etc.

    Mixing the same color twice on an item makes the effect of both more powerful (red 1+ Str) + (Red 5+ Attack Power) = (2+Str and +7 Attack Power) Mixing opposing colors spreads out the effect adding a variable stat based on the mix. (Red 1+ Str) + (Yellow 5+ Defense Power) = (1+ Str , 5+ Defense, +Parry Chance)

    I have to thank Square-Enix for the amazing job they have done recreating Final Fantasy XIV from Scratch. Especially the inclusion of Missing Genders which we petitioned for in good faith. This was proof to us players that the Developers are truly Sympathetic to our requests and that being honest and vocal can pay off with the amazing characters we have who are Female Roegadyn, Male Miqote, and Female Highlanders.     The Materia System...

    That has me excited - that would indeed add a new dimension of gameplay to a game that has been sorely lacking in depth and breadth.

    Agree with the others we don't want something complicated or useless, I would suggest keeping it simple to start with like the addition of str, vit, mnd, int, pie & dex to items, you can then build upon this by adding new materia types such as bird killer, demon killer, plant killer etc.

    +1 on Materia system (and it should be called like that, Final Fantasy XVII FTW!)

    And most important rebalance the stats mechanics, like many others before me said it needs a fix asap

    I loved it!!!!, i really like the news. But I like the gauge progress, please keep it!!!, it`s the only thing that makes fun the synth =(

    I personally think the crafting system, as is, is too complex. I think if you made the mini game more intuitive and less random it would be amazing! Have white be 100% you got it, have multi colored be like 75%, have yellow be 50%, and have red be 25% chance to succeed. Then the choices Standard, Rapid, Bold would be your quality ofc as is.

    Right now, I have trouble telling which colors to synth on...I'm honestly pretty confused with it...it doesn't seem to have "an exact science". I fail things sometimes when I'm 10 lvls higher...maybe the recipes need recalibration to what lvl you have a chance of finishing it. I'd say being at least 3-5 lvls over the synth should give you a 80%-100%.

    I'm also a player who really only wants to specialize in two crafts and maybe one gathering class that compliment each other...I'd like to see it become easier to get parts you need from other players as well. Sometimes its kind of hard...and then you end up leveling everything. I don't really want to see a million people who specialize in everything...it seems really unrealistic...plus everyone likes to have something they are the best at!


    I'd love to see the recipes be more ... simpler...especially lower level synths.
    Glad you guys are making changes. Looking forward to improvements!

    I'd also like to see stats be a little more intuitive and meaningful.
