lol. Well if the subclass was actually a real 'requirement' to creating the item, It would make certain equipment more of a goal. I wouldn't mind not being able to make Bladed Lantern shields until i increased my alchemy.

Yes, subcraft skills should not be in local leves. If I'm doing a blacksmith leve, I don't want to be told I need a certain level of armoursmithing or leatherworking to do the synth. That defeats the purpose of doing a local leve for a specific class, as often these subcrafts are something I don't particularly want to rank up.
However, when it comes to grinding and crafting outside of leves, here's what I would love to see. Items which have subcrafts should give SP for BOTH crafts. Not an equal amount, but the subcraft could give a percentage of the SP in relation to the difference between the required craft ranks. It doesn't make sense that if you need multiple skills to complete an item, you're really only getting the benefits from one class.
Nice, my first time crafting since the patch. I just failed 6/21 walnut masks, something I been making @ about 10% fail rate now for 3 levels. Failed one synth 7 straight times, had one synth go unstable on me 3 times. Did they ninja nerf this again?
This needs to be fixed, and soon. It's hard enough cranking out 9586767 synths to level without this bullsh*t.

Hmm i agree with this. lots.Yes, subcraft skills should not be in local leves. Hi All,
I just had to throw in my laughable experiences with crafting, today was the WORST of them by far:
I'm Rank 44 Alchemist, and I just failed making a Rank *1* (ONE) Alchemist Synth (Distilled Water) twice in a row. (>_<)![]()
I have all the Training Books, all gear over 95% Repaired, Crafting Support, Crafting Food, HQ Main Hand Tool, Stats set to favor Main Hand Tool as well.
I get 4 synths in a row using NQ Muddy Water to over 275+ Quality, ~70 Durability remaining.
Then 2 synths back-to-back, FAILED, 0 Durability, and with repeated Failed Attempts (one stretch of 7 Failed Attempts in a Row, HUH?!). On White Orbs, on Yellow Orbs, didn't matter.
All under the same Moon, and same Weather.
How does Square even begin to *explain this*?! They can't. I hate RNG so much.
Sorry for the rant, but today's example was by far the worst I've seen of Crafting's Randomness.![]()
