I feel ya. Some Item synth attempts have a 'You WILL fail' side to them. Like youre grind through on one item, 5 times in a row all your synths are mainly successes, then suddenly Boom-Boom-Boom-Boom. wtf rite?My final comments and observations on this, now with one more rank to go to 50.
I still saw no noticeable improvement in synthing walnut masks from ranks 43 thru 48. As a matter of fact, my fail rate @ 48 was indeed greater than it was @ 43, which is very sad, to say the least. I will say now @ 49, I finally see a discernable ease in the synth.
I also now believe that above and beyond the RNG inherent in the coding, there is something that goes beyond that - I'll call it a 'rage' mode for lack of a better description. Specifically, periodically, there is an interim where no matter what you do, you fail the attempt, sometimes 6-8 times in a row. In addition, during this interim, it's not uncommon for a synth to go unstable, more than once, and very often, sometimes more often than not, go chaotic. This is way too common an occurance to specifically point at this and blame it on RNG. I don't care how unlucky you are, 6-8 fails in a row is way beyond pure RNG. Maybe, just maybe, there are certain, moon, day, weather elements that cause this, but I haven't been able to pinpoint the cause. Also, during this periodic 'rage' interim, just listen to the synth fails around you - i.e. - it isn't just me.
Anyhow, I do hope SE gets to this sooner than later. Honestly, as I close in on R50, I feel like Andy must have felt in the Shawshank Redemption as he crawled thru the sewer to his freedom. No more grinding for me until this is fixed lolz.
