Savage loot restriction should be gone by now and tomestone cap should be doubled.

Loot restriction and tomestone cap should be lifted with introduction of patch 7.1 / 7.3 and 7.5 respectively.

As title says. Current raid tier was introduced back on July 16th. It's been three months, or 16 weeks, since then. In my honest thoughts, this period of time is more than enough to progress from scratch up to reaching BiS gear on your main class.

Loot restriction from current raid tier should be removed so players with introduction of brand new Chaos Alliance Raid, with new way of obtaining ilvl730 gear should be able to farm this raid tier. Because why not? If you'll be able to farm BiS gear from different source, then what's the point of keeping Savage loot restricted?

Tomestone cap should be at least doubled at this point, and it should become a standard from now on up to the end of Dawntrail and beyond. Because once again, why not? Isn't 16 weeks enough to gather enough currency? If they're planning to lift restriction just before 7.2 then we have at least 16 more weeks before 7.2, combining up to 32 weeks or 6 months in total of restricted, mostly cleared and dead content.

I found it funny that by locking me to 450 tomes a week I have now stopped farming them because there is no point. I want to play with a geared character now, not in 7 weeks. So I just gave up on it because I'm tired of wasting my time chasing the carrot. I do my weekly reclears now and I'm done for the week. The game is so bad for gearing alts.

I even stopped raiding because of it, because what is the point? If I do Savage normally, I can't flex at all in Ultimate because you can only manage to gear at best 2 out of the 5 roles/7 gear types, and the gear is absolutely useless in anything else in 7.0-7.1, we already know it won't be required for Chaotic because it drops 730 gear, its not needed for literally anything else content-wise (alliance, EX etc.), and with 7.2 it's useless again so why spend the 1 month before running it uncapped? It's even useless as glamour considering how utter dogshit this games inventory/glam system is, all you can do is delete it, or delete something else so why bother to begin with?

It's not great to plan around manipulating players, but I assume this is one of them. If the content is as you said, then unlocking it will be made dead and cleared faster, and more boring, if you did so. More people would get it done and out of the way sooner, making an even larger dead zone, AND those players who did so would probably experience content fatigue easier.

Obviously having a content density that prevents players from getting to that point, rather than spreading out the existing content, would be a player preference.. but I can't imagine at least a semi-reasonable argument doesn't exist for preventing players from inhaling everything too quickly 'for their own good'. Reminds me of my experience with payroll (am not an accountant, just have experience with it) and many of the employees hated a move to once a month pay and it came to cadence issue. I initially was like "...its the same amount of money going to the same place, do you need an advance for this transition?" and it wasn't that, mostly, it was primarily that people couldn't control their own impulse. They would have spent the whole month in the week, rather when it's spread out and they could make it to the next week.

Perhaps treating the playerbase like addicts that can 'totally stop anytime they want' isn't polite... and certainly there is a level of making less last for longer (I can do less if I just spread it out!!!) lol.. but on the other hand, I kind of get it. A lot of people will go to a buffet, gorge themselves, and then be like "why did you make me fat!?" while asking for a box for their leftovers.

I definitely think they should change how their cap works anyways, but that I get there is some sort of cadence mechanic in place not just for their own benefit but to prevent burnout / collapse of the player pool.

First thought would be to remove the weekly cap mechanic and turn it into a total obtainable tomestone mechanic. Each week the total possibly obtainable tomes increases. When you're more than one week behind the cap then the tomestome rewards from content is increased by 50-100% (turning off once you catch up to 1 week). When you're two weeks and beyond, more content rewards tomestones (meaning you might be doing the golden saucer, and many other types of content, and get tomes, up until you catch up to two weeks at least).

Additionally after obtaining your first 5125 tokens the cost of equipment is cut by 1/4 (3/4 cost), and again at 8968 tokens earned (equipment is now 1/2 price). Trigger price might be a bit high, but need to watch out entirely devaluing other gearing options. Doesn't translate into poetics, when the gear turns into poetic gear (but give poetics a large cap too, with potentially more sources).

I have almost 4 jobs at bis, and we didn't get our first m4s clear until week 7.

I feel like there's plenty of opportunities to get multiple jobs to bis.

and how is this going to affect you badly? Hear the same excuse every time this is brought up it's fine as it is. Yet in the meantime we have slower queues, as people leave the game once they've got their stuff for the week or even piss off for weeks till the catch up update. Then there's people complaining about lack of things to do and there's a solution sitting there but SE is so scared in case ppl sub less. YET THEY ARE ALREADY ARE DOING THIS DUE TO THE CAPS.

The tomestone cap should be raised every week rather than reset.

Instead of raising the tome cap, just cut the price of tome gear in half -- like actually. It costs 4635 capped tomes for a full set of armor (10.3 weeks of capping tomes), not including 500 tomes for a weapon. It actually takes more tome for someone who doesn't do savage to get gear for their job than someone who does savage. I point this out as someone who does do savage. It's ridiculous.

It also has a knock on effect of making leveling gear harder to obtain when capped tome gearsets get moved to hunt currencies or poetics.

Please make capped tome gear significantly cheaper.

Yeah right. Mathematically you could not have obtained enough tomes to get 4 jobs to BiS unless you're talking about classes that share gear, which doesn't cover the concern folks who flex have (think healer, melee, ranged, magic, tank flexing, not "I flex between tank and other tank"). Additionally, weapons come into play here for BiS, so either you have had very good luck on your weekly coffer rolls (does your static do FFA loot? Are you in PF?) or you have only earned enough M4S books to book a single one of your 4 BiS weapons, the other 3 coming from coffers locked behind luck based rolls. In addition to this you need not only a mixture of raid gear (luck based rolls) but additionally need the upgrade materials that either cost books (you get 1 per fight per week, so 3 weeks for a single accessory upgrade, 4 for a body piece) or lucky rolls. Simply put, in order for you to get 4 complete BiS sets in 9 weeks (plus however many weeks you were clearing the other fights, which if it took 7 weeks to clear M4S couldn't have been that long), someone else statistically has had to have received a proportionally lower amount of loot, which is what the central point of the argument was in the first place.

You're making arguments in bad faith.
