    Personally, I think [Fire (I)] and [Blizzard (I)] should auto-upgrade to [Fire III] and [Blizzard III].

    More Egi Summons: I know it's been discussed a lot, but I will never give up on it! At least bring in the remaining ARR primals. After Trance concludes the players are given a resource to summon up to three out of six Egi (Garuda, Ifrit, Titan, Leviathan, Ramuh, Shiva) - or have them alternate following Bahamut/Phoenix. Ideally, all six would have unique abilities as well, so that they're more than just reskins.
    - More Glamours for Carbuncle/Egi.


    Red Mage
    Personally, I'd have to see Red Mage have access to the remaining elements.
    - Verblizzard: Deals ice damage. {Replace either Verthunder (or Verthunder II) with Verblizzard. (If Verthunder is replaced, drop the II from Verthunder II.)}
    - Verwater: Deals water damage. {Replace either Veraero (or Veraero II) with Verwater. (If Veraero is replaced, drop the II from Veraero II.)}
    - Vercomet: Deals unaspected damage. {Replace fire-aspected Verflare with unaspected Vercomet.}
    Alternatively I also wouldn't mind if Red Mage was changed up so that their elemental spells flowed similarly to the Pictomancer's spells.

    While this would be amazing (and Scholar fairies right with it), one of the few universal rules of all MMORPGs so far has been that pet jobs get removed, and only ever removed.

    This can take many forms, the kind of trivialized "it's just external graphics for what is essentially a raid buff" like the 3s interval smart heal (because in other games we just called it that) that is a modern Scholar Fairy to the just-a-minipet-to-look pretty of Summoner Carbuncle. It could even be that the pet still exists, still gets commands, but for mechanical purposes the game just renders things as if the pet did them, the entire engine just sees the pet owner (another aspect of modern Fairy).

    Why this is so utterly consistent across so many games? Hard to say, but it's one of the few truly consistent elements and hence can probably be accepted as a base rule of MMORPG design and evolution. Pet jobs are in fresh games, and as a game ages, get trivialized or removed or retooled. Even the Necromancer of DAoC, a concept where you became the pet more or less, was changed because of the mechanical issues due to the casting queue of the pet.

    My personal wishlist for the casters would be:

    - Black Mages more casting, slower casts (4s-5s) every so often, insane damage amounts, and all of these slow spells are naturally AoE with wide (15y-20y) radii. Absolute slow nuke mage. Effects like Swiftcast or Triplecast only give -2.5s to cast, so they don't actually make stuff instant, either. To compensate, damage in fact automatically goes up the longer you have not gotten one of these "main" spells off (passive trait, every second is +5%-10% damage to these spells until you finish another one which consumes the stacks, max of 20 or so stacks).
    - Summoner gets alternative minor summons, on summoning a major you "draw a deck" of 3 minors. Each roughly fits their slot (one slot slow casts, one instant cast, one mobility/healing/utility) but they also all work different in mechanical ways so taht you can never ever have a muscle memory or a rhythm.
    - Pictomancer casts motifs 0.5s~1.0s slower than now even. If these spells are not finished, they still trigger a muse charge, the power is scaled based on the % of motif completed, below 25% there's also a rising failure chance where nothing happens at all.
    - Red Mage just add more utility mostly, and fold existing buttons that really don't need to b e separate. Too little White Mage in the hyribid white+black mage. Add a DoT maybe, and a group heal, and a HoT.

    me and a friend of mine have been tinkering with job adjustment ideas, so i'll share some of mine and the reasoning behind them. they're all melee dps things cuz that's where most of my exp lies. (i have to make separate posts cuz of character count)

    NIN
    -Meisui deals damage equal to a buffed Bhavacakra (so potency of 530); no longer grants Ninki on use.

    Ninja currently gains a lot of Ninki before and during it's burst window, but not a lot of opportunities to spend it to prevent overcapping. On top of that, the execution of the burst window is very precise. Condensing Meisui into a damage skill that deals the same amount of damage a buffed Bhava would do means there's less chances of the player overcapping Ninki during normal gameplay, and one less ogcd weave to try and fit in an already tight window

    -Mudras have 3 charges (allows one ninjitsu to be used outside of buff windows for disengage)

    While there is some ranged flexibility in Ninja's kit, it usually comes at a cost to its damage, which is already not great. Currently, to do the most amount of damage on Ninja, both mudra charges need to be used for it's burst windows; one to set up Kunai's Bane, and one to use inside that window. If you use one outside of those two instances, your dps drops a lot. Having one extra charge of mudras means that once every minute, you can save one ninjitsu when needing to disengage from the enemy and still have mudras available for the burst window. (This would also just be an inherent buff to ninja's damage, which as I said before, is currently not great)

    - Let ninjas move during Ten Chi Jin

    I've been wanting this since Endwalker, because it's pretty evident that many fights are being designed to have mechanics that require movement during everyone's burst windows. And as casters have gotten more tools for movement over the last couple of expansions (every caster having 40 sec Swiftcast, 2 charges of Triplecast and Acceleration for BLM and RDM respectively, SMN being rekitted to not have any cast times, even healers have tools that allow free movement like AST Lightspeed and SGE Toxikon) it feels weird and bad for TCJ, a big part of Ninja's damage for burst windows, to force the player from doing any movement for almost 4 sec. Some fights feel impossible to pull off a full TCJ without greeding and most likely killing yourself for it (looking at you EX1), and if you do move during it, that's a big loss in damage. It's also not a skill can be played around because of how strict the rotation is during the burst window. TCJ as a whole just feels counterintuitive for a melee class as mobile as Ninja

    - Plentiful Harvest grants Soulsow

    Similar to giving Ninja a third charge of mudras, allowing Reaper to gain a cast of Harvest Moon once every 2 min gives Reaper more opportunities to disengage from the boss without losing damage. I also think it's very weird to design a skill that only gets used once during an encounter unless there is downtime to charge another

    - Increase cooldown of Enshroud to 25 sec

    Okay, maybe a hot take, but it's verified by my friend who mains Reaper: I am not a fan of double Enshroud. I think it's clunky and unfun to execute. It also feels weird to have a strong ability like Gluttony fall outside of it's own raid buff because double Enshroud is the optimal thing to do for burst windows. And if they keep double Enshroud possible, I'm worried they won't be able to expand on the Reaper kit in a fun way in the future. Increasing it's cooldown means that double Enshroud wouldn't be possible to execute, freeing some space in Reaper's moveset for something more engaging

    VPR
    - Reaving Fangs grants 2 stacks of Honed Steel; Steel Fangs no longer grants Honed Reavers

    Now, I played 7.0 Viper. I didn't dislike Noxious Gnash, but I was kinda indifferent to it being removed. However, I do miss what managing Noxious Gnash did for executing dual blade combos. When managing Noxious Gnash, it felt really good to execute the non-linear rotation. Right now, you have a very static sequence of 4 different combo routes, whereas before in 7.0 you had 8 that you could go through. Adding a stack mechanic like MNK's fury and NIN's Kazematoi would reintroduce a similar complexity to Viper's dual blade rotation that it had on DT release

    MNK:
    - Increase range of Forbidden Chakra to 15-20 yards (charged ranged attack - MNK is the only job with NO ranged attack)
    - Reduce cooldown of Riddle of Fire to 55 seconds. You'll still pop it once a minute, just adds more flexibility and avoids drifting 2m buff.
    - Using meditate outside of combat grands 1 Lunar + 1 Solar nadi. Lets you have a normal 2m burst at pull like all other classes without having to do a cursed double-lunar for alignment.

    Dunno what to say about positionals. They're fine in most content and I'm from the days where *every* skill was positional, but this tier specifically has been murder on melee and there aren't enough True North charges in the world to hit all positionals.

    Also in general let's just nuke the 2-minute meta.
