Maybe the reason is ... they don't want FF14 to be that kind of game?
Other people have already said it but it needs repeating: premades would ruin the experience for people solo queuing.
I would honestly like a duo queue in casual CC so I can take my friends in and teach them. There's also no stake in casual matches and the skill level disparity is so wide that the reason someone lost a match would most likely not be entirely on facing a premade either.
However, ranked CC should absolutely stay solo. A well-coordinated WHM+DRG LB can instantly wipe out the entire enemy team with no counterplay. A 2 person team that is coordinating can swing the match way too far in their favour because of the small team size, and that's not acceptable when you can lose ranking from it.
First timers are going to start in casual. If they keep getting curb stomped by premades then they will give up on the mode. I would personally prefer casual to be welcoming to newcomers.
The only way this would work is if both teams had a premade on them, or neither had one.
In particular for League, you're right. This isn't true anymore. Because Riot changed it later in the game's lifespan. However, this was the case in the past, it was a real thing. Be happy you never got a chance to experience it, because it wasn't fun at all when it happened.![]()
well it should be two different pvp ranking systems then, there is NO idea in letting groups queue in for 5v5 where team 1 is fully premade vs 5 random people that has never met, that is why current system is is solo queue.
Categorically untrue, but your heart is poisoned and your mind is already prejudiced against that because all you want to do is find faults, I can't save you I'm afraid. No one can.You can already make private 5v5 matches, OP
Of course I know that anyone who wants to queue a premade into normal ranked or casual just wants to stomp randoms for a laugh. You know you can already do that in Frontline, right? And it's a miserable experience for everyone else.
Clearly by their messaging of merging ranked PVP it's a shrinking game type, and I'm here explaining one of the factors why I, and my friends don't play it often. Why? It's simple. WE CANT PLAY TOGETHER. This isn't fun, and like everyone else we just farm the rewards and perma quit till next reward ladder.
But I guess this is why this game can never get better and its less of an MMO each day. All that matters is protecting the solo experience at the cost of killing every social aspect of this game.
Let's make it so easy no one needs to talk or coordinate... Can't even bother to find silent people? Lets add bots that way you don't even need to find anyone on the MMO. New PVP mode? solo only. There will always be reasons to complain about everything that is implemented. This I know. The thing is, with this game being an MMO, I would just imagine they would compromise the solo experience a bit (it still needs to balance, like all the other PVP games mentioned here) to enhance and build on the social experience, as it should be given the genre of game it is. Again, an MMO. It's crazy it's doing the opposite. Sacrificing the social experience for the solo players, hence becoming a single player title more and more.
I don't know what to tell you there but this isn't a good solo game, never will be, and despite how polished the game has become, there is only so much how that can cover for the game not being a good MMO anymore.

They will not be curbstomped by duos more than how they already get curbstomped by solo ranked players anyway. And at the opposite of solo ranked players where you'll never be sure that the other team also has one to even the odds, a system of duos would required the other side to get one too.First timers are going to start in casual. If they keep getting curb stomped by premades then they will give up on the mode. I would personally prefer casual to be welcoming to newcomers.
