I think they should allow people to create private 5v5 games at least, outside of casual and ranked queues. PvPers already organise community events on a regular basis and this would make it a lot easier. Like this friend groups could play together, FCs/discord servers could host smaller recurring (like once a week) and/or bigger tournaments etc. Given the community spirit I think such a feature would see frequent use and would be appreciated a lot by different player groups.

    - Custom games are already possible to make in Crystalline Conflict right now and that's how people run scrims and LP tournaments. It's Frontline that doesn't have custom game options unfortunately.
    - The reason Team Ranked was scrapped a long time ago after only a couple of seasons is because of the rampant win trading everywhere combined with the ridiculously small pool of teams. But this was Feast, a pvp mode notoriously inbred and with a much lower popularity than CC.
    - Thinking that allowing a full 5 players premade to queue up freely in any CC mode is not a problem is delusional. If you have played in scrims/LPs or watched tournaments, you'll understand how the result would be a total slaughter not dissimilar to what DRK abusers do in FLs right now. I do however believe that allowing duos to queue up for casual mode only at first, and ensuring that the automatch finds another duo to pit in the opposing team, would probably be a pretty relatively safe first step to try and I find it surprising that SE doesn't seem to be willing to try this out considering that I do agree with the OP: unable to queue with your friend(s) is literally what blocks most of my own social circle from really giving pvp a go...

If you want premade for CC you will have two possibilities which will lead to the same consequence: a decreasing pool of player after a certain amount of time as the public is not the same as MOBA.

    1. you choose the same queue for solo and group => solo player will leave with time because of frustration and they will be fewer games
    2. you choose to have two separates queues => the small CC player pool will be splitted in two and so fewer games for each group.

SE have all the data to see how much this mode is played. If too few people are playing CC they will diminish dev resources allocated to this feature. With time they will cut it and allocate resources elsewhere. I think that, even if the the current situation is not good, it's the least bad as silver buller does not exist in game dev.

I've always said the Casual mode should allow a 5-stack and queue freely against any combination of team. Ranked can be the mode that requires solo-play only.

You can already tell when some "friends" queue up you get always double team targeted to death or they just ignore their enemy-friend, despite them being low on MP and HP...

A full premade 5 vs another premade 5 can work but even that will lose its appeal really fast. You got to remember that most players are not used to PvP or not comfortatble with it at all so I'm actually impressed that any of the modes actually find moderate usage to begin with

Otherwise your fun is another person's garbage fire of an experience, speaking from experience when they allowed this and it was pointless to queue solo.

Not that I'm saying I can't see why you want to play with friends, I can easily imagine that.. just that coordination is a high value for determining wins, and solo queues vs a team queue is like a 99.9% loss before the game has started.
Yeah, gw2's unranked 5v5 allows 5 stacks queue. I am a solo player, and it is extremely unfun to get farmed by sweaty 5 stacks to a degree where l could not even leave spawn... I think solution is to just have another queue just for team

That would just drive casual solo players out of casual mode.

Something they could have, is a separate queue for teams, but not open all the time. Perhaps it's open in the weekend, and everyone can join it, from solo, duo, trio and up to a 5-man team. And you would still have the normal solo unranked queue.

Keeping it limited in time, would make everyone that wants to play it gather at those times, instead of spreading the players out across the entire week. This could keep the queues go faster and keep the mode active.

I’ve always thought it should be the other way around… why have your rank depend on whether you get randomly matched with a good enough team? What exactly is the achievement measured there? Persistence? I’ll give you that one!

But having the ranking based on RNG team comp, rather than your performance by damage done or KOs, kills it for me. I spent the first two series trying to get out of bronze and would get a loss (or string of them) literally every single time I got one star away. Only thing in the game I ever rage quit… I only do casual mode CC now.

If there is a reason to farm solo players as a five stack in casual, then de-incentivize it. Queueing up in a group doesn't reward as much towards the PvP series for instance. I also don't remember off the top of my head if there are achievements similar to like a Seal Rock win count for glam. That could be changed to solo-queue only count if their spaghetti code can handle it.
