Yes. There is no meaningful content besides savage. Tomestones and "catch up patches" with the 24 man raid are designed to get you easier into savage content.

There is no goal for casual players to achieve. No reason to gear up.

Yeah they pretend to give you an option about your privacy but its not the one they'd give if they really cared.
That's the one thing I'd like SQX to take action on if they at all could, and thats to compel fflogs with "look, its give and take but don't take the piss, changing to opt-in, and well all then get on"
TO be fair that would be hard. I doubt its illegal to own data unless its copyrightable and I wonder if you can copy right this kind of data. You can challenge when its obtained illegally if you will... but fflogs had nothing to do with that transgression.

And I'd sympathise that killing fflogs... would in reality kill the game. That's just reallity.

The only way to get that data is via achievements BTW, and those are hidden by default.

Yeah but Aoi is big on ToS apparently. And has 132 logs in FFlogs.... they know about opt-out.

I'm one of the people who has cleared the extremes but not savage.

Up to this point I was more likely to ignore high-level content and spend my time levelling my alts, but the graphics update and style shift has made most of my characters "not themselves" so I've shelved them until (if and when) the models get fixed.

The Valigarmanda weapons were cool so I wanted to learn that fight.

I might not have bothered with Everkeep as I didn't like the jewellery that drops from it, but I accidentally signed up to the wrong party one time and ended up there, and the group encouraged me to stay and learn the fight. Now I'm willing to jump in if I see there's a party struggling to attract members.

Savage, on the other hand... I didn't like any of the outfit pieces on offer so I didn't even bother unlocking it. I had kinda-sorta plans to at least take one of my alts through Dawntrail who would better suit the gear style and the mount, but never got around to it due to a mix of busy IRL and being put off by how much my character doesn't look like himself right now.

So, yeah. If it wasn't for the second character I might have tried savage on my main for the sake of it, but it seemed like double effort to do that and all the gearing up if I was going to do it again on my alt, but then I didn't actually get around to doing it on my alt.

Gearing-wise I'd rather putter along in my mix of raid/tome/dungeon gear than worry about being best-in-slot.

I'm one of this cohort.

I came into DT with renewed vigor, as I have been part of the savage raiding scene over the years. ARR, HW, ShB mostly were my times as part of a proper static and I do loved organised raiding. I was enjoying the fights, PFing the extremes and getting a good number of clears on each.

When I was faced with the tomestone grind to get the gear to do the savage PF to get the gear to clear savage a bit quicker next time until it all gets binned in 7.2 I just couldn't bring myself to do it yet again.

I haven't really logged on since. I think I'm like 705-710 or something. I just have no time for what is fundamentally pointless. Especially with the added pain of PFing the whole thing.

I think we are losing track of the question or the point.

Of those farming Extreemes (just clearing 3/4 times doesn't count) what % of those then succeeded engaging savage level content.

2 or 3 could prove many things but not at all what my question is interested in. It probably only proves either that some people like to try and be helpful and/or maybe also don't get things like confirmation bias, statistics, and the importance of sample size, or that they think they know my concern and just like to be a contrarian.

7% of registered collectors have the M4 minion (guaranteed drop). Of those:

• 17% have the M4 Savage mount (guaranteed drop)
• 13.89% have the Valigarmanda Extreme mount (2% drop rate)

Now that isn't fair. Valigarmanda's mount drop rate isn't guaranteed, and if it were, the figure would likely be way higher. Let's do this on the previous tier where the extreme mount is guaranteed:

23% have the P12 minion (guaranteed drop). Of those:

• 16.5% have the P12 Savage mount (guaranteed drop)
• 7.8% have the Abyssal Fracture Extreme mount (guaranteed after 50 runs)

So it is looking like more people get the Savage mounts than get the Extreme mounts, despite that Extremes are definitely regarded as easier. More people are clearing the harder content than the easier content if we believe this, because they see Extremes as a joke.

Yet here you are thinking Extremes are for hardcore raiders. Hardcore raiders think they're a joke and aren't even bothering, based on this. Or at least, they put off farming Extremes for years until they can unsync farm them.

Lucky Bancho only gets data on the number of people who cleared last floor savage. Many people only clear 1-3 floors or don't beat last one however.

According to Lucky Bancho (as of yesterday), JP worlds as well as many Aether and Primal worlds, have seen nearly 50% of the people that clear M4 Normal also clear M4 Savage. However, some worlds, particularly on data centers like Meteor, Crystal, Dynamis and Materia, are more in the area of 33%.

So what that tells you is that if you have beaten M4 Normal you have at least a 50% chance of being capable of beating M4 Savage. Your chances of beating 1-3 are likely even higher than that, because we can't get data on those.

(For context, anyone that hasn't beaten M4 Normal is obviously not actually playing the game or didn't beat Dawntrail yet. It's highly unlikely you would be actively playing and not have beat it)

This is, interesting in its own right.

It may be that I'm missing some nuance or relationship, and please fill int he gaps and correct me as may be possible but, what I would be interest in is....

• Taking just that 13.9% that have the Val mount we are interested in as the 100% of our interested sample...
• of that group what % have achievements public so that we can test for the achievement for clearing M1 savage? (Should be easy, just test for the first achievement in the game. We will take that as our new 100% of our sample group.)
• of that group how many now have the achievement for clearing M1 savage?

Its not an ideal. But its the best we can do.

As for P, we just cant use that data, both savage and extreme, you can now do it unsynced. So its irrelevant. As it is I don't even count Extremes even if they were done synced, once they are no longer High-end and the gearing is OP.

@Oscarlet, (I wish I could ping you) how did you get at that data? It be interested in the data to try and do it myself, as long as it wasn't character anonymised, because then its impossible.
