    That's where the BA and DRS fights are and at that point it doesn't even seem fun, it's basically just a free carry from people taking a bunch of rewards off the top.

    Requiring me to go into a discord, give a bunch of personal info to a bot for marketing purposes, unprivate all my lodestone info, and sit through a lecture in Voice Chat before I can push any buttons is not my idea of a fun time in FFXIV.

    Besides I can't believe people will use these as any kind of measuring stick for skill when they seem like they'll be super on-rails after the first few weeks, when guides come out and everyone is required to use them before they zone in.
    I agree that BA is exactly what you describe. It was extremely interesting at release to go through and actually figure out, but now that it's figured out, unless you have one of those handful of responsibility roles in the alliance, 90% of the players are just sheep following basic callouts on discord without even understanding what's going on.

    I blame the fully scripted side of everything tbh. That's the main culprit on what is otherwise some of the best non high end raiding content in the game.

    I'd say BA's problem is that it's a PIA just to enter and getting kicked out/not being able to be ressed because of one mistake is too discouraging to not play it extremely safe. If they took out the death penalty/getting kicked out during Ozma's fight, people wouldn't be afraid to go in blind.

    Ppl need to understand a couple things about chaotic alliances with what we know.

    And ironically we dont really know cuz what they said can be taken as confusing.

    The main thing is that can be practiced with 12 players but balanced around 24.

    What this means:
    1. mechs only require 12 people the other 12 are only there to do damage or heals and have no responsibility so carry parties can happen.
    2. This doesn't appear to have any restriction like BA or DRS ergo you don't need at all to join any discord or whatsoever besides CBU3 is very bad at explaining things (looking at you island sanctuary).
    3. Them saying that the difficulty is like savage can be very misleading there are several savage fights that are way easier than some extremes even some Gulool Ja EX mechs are harder than m1s or m2s the only difference is that savage hits harder
    4. If you can actually solve mechs with 12 ppl and if there are no restrictions with queing then that means this chaotic fight is easily breakable cuz you can get 6 extra dps by replacing 1 tank and 1 healer in each alliance.

    Believe it or not im confident saying that content such as the first tier in savage or maybe this new chaotic are not as hard as ppl thing if you ever cleared a extreme or unreal you can easily clear the current savage tier and most likely the new chaotic without any crazy preparation or discord or whatever thats only for ppl that wants day 1 clears etc

    I genuinely think it's going to be popular that first month or so and then die a death and be relegated a discord only activity like a BA or a DSR. The community at large isn't going to do it. So the majority of the stock of players it is going to attract be low and get lower as time goes on.

    It might be a hit with the hardcore community, but it's going to be a dud with the causal community. Especially since from what I've been hearing, the rewards are tradeable. So I see it being as usless as the unreal difficulty. Seriously, side tangent, but why would I run it and stress myself out when I can just buy it with gil?

    And then, once the rewards are gotten, it will die. Its item level is also too low. Coming out near a new tier, only being at savage level, is laughable. At least pull a relic and be 5 item levels higher.

    I don't mean to be negative, but it seems like dead content like Eureka Orthos or Criterion Dungeons.

    It's just annoying that we get this fast food niche content.

    I'd rather they develop long-term content that everyone, not just some small percent, can participate it. It just shows how tone deaf and incompetent SquareEnix is to servicing the playerbase at large needs. This will just lead to fewer and fewer subscribers as the ones you have burned out due to boredom leave.

    This is the same thing we asked for with criterion. Who was criterion for?

    Ultimately it comes down to rewards and how much we want them.

    People asked specifically for criterion as a lower player count way to try out harder content, but the problem with Criterion is people asked for casual-extreme-savage difficulty and instead they added casual-savage-harder savage difficulty
