Targeting Issue

So today i had a problem with my pc and had to redownload the game, but something went wrong somewhere i think. when i try to use my skills a purple swirl targeting thing comes up and i have to press enter to use my skills. before this happened i could select target and then press a skill and it activated with no issue, can someone please help me?

That purple ring is sub target I think. Usually comes up if u are playing a mage and are casting a spell. Try adjusting your targeting settings in config. Default is setting A. A lot of people use B instead.

i tried setting b on tageting settings but it still didnt work anything else i can try?

Menu > Config > Target Settings

Try messing around in there. It sounds like one of the settings I remember them adding at some point. After taking a look in there myself (without testing anything -- I'm about to leave for work) it looks like it might be "Action Subtargets".

The weird thing is, my "Action Subtargets" says that it's on, but I don't get that sub-target reticule except when I'm using spells. Are you even getting it when you use weaponskills?

yeah its only for spells but its for all of my spells which makes using cure and protect and everything else a pain

From Patch 1.21 Notes:

[dev1302] The Action Subtargets option has been added to the Configuration menu, under Target Settings. Toggling off disables the selection of alternate targets for actions executed directly from the action bar; actions will instead be performed on the current target.
* Setting can also be toggled via a text command.
/subtarget（/st） [subcommand]
　>> Subcommands:
　on - Enable Action Subtargets
　off - Disable Action Subtargets
　Toggle between on and off when no subcommand is specified.
　* Enabled by default.

Basically, "/st off" should fix the issue.
