i am at the end of my teather aswell. i have no motivation to play the new stuff, because its not good and i dont enjoy it

I dont play ff11 - so this collab isnt made for me
I dont like the beast tribe race - so this content isnt for me
I normally would do the ex, but seeing that i cant even get the mount for another year - this isnt for me
the unreal is timegated with 1 reward that doesnt sell - this this content isnt for me
the new dng gear is undyeable and hardly drops - so that content isnt for me
the pvp changes and kinda cool, but im burned out from 2000Win far on alpha wolf grind - so that content isnt for me

there isnt really any point in subbing. im starting to see the signs this game is going into maint mode and thats killing my drive to grind out any meaningful achievements

the only reason i AM still here, is because i want to socialize and make friends at clubs

I subbed back to play PvP, whether it will keep holding my interest is still unknown.

I already took longer break and gave up my house, the main thing that would keep me subbed is long term goals for PvP and Mahjong and/or addition of more player centric repeatable content that isn't just static repeats of itself like most of the PvE in the game is.

Really hoping they will introduce enough rewards with the 7.2 Frontline update at latest, current patch has practically nothing for Wolf Marks and Trophy Crystals, not to mention that there still isn't anything new for Collars or Commendation Crystals which makes them mostly useless.

At least, this game has the least amount of annoying things that you can experience in other games. I wouldn't call me an expert in ffxiv, since i tried this game several times in the last years before but hasn't lasted long. Now I'm on the train since May this year and play it every day. Every other current mmo can't hold my interest anymore. Either it's totally dumbed down, or a cash grab or the community is toxic af.

Things that i like:

- One Character for every Job
- Storytelling is great. Even the Hairstylist is funny to unlock.
- Scaling, to not trivialize anything with more max (item)level. Sure you can bypass things, but it's well executed in general. (Hello WoW)
- A well made online store without being overly pricey (Hello 78€ Brontosaur)
- Pretty Characters and Armor (Hello New World)
- Combat feels great, even with Tab Targeting
- No (official) addons for UI customization
- Tiny things like changing the default pose of your character that persists through a logout. I was amazed, that you can even change the sitting pose and other stuff. Styling your Retainer like a Character. The sheer amount of work for fluff is insane compared to other Games.
- Loot Competition is fair, even for Alliance Raids
- No Loot Lockout unless you received an item in current content.

There is a ton more for me to explore in the game. I discovered the Hildibrand Questlines by accident and got sidetracked for hours. I'm not aiming for speciic content or am a player that is chasing for the best in slot loot exclusively. I try everything and play it. Even when it's a bit boredom sometimes, you receive something at least. Currently i'm grinding the FATE-Ranks of the previous expansions and it's helpful that you get the actual currency instead of an useless outdated one. Maybe my views will change in the future but for now i'm enjoying this game and even after 6 Months straight playing the honeymoon phase is still there.

Thats easy. Savage extremes mounts fasion exploration my fc my house my apartment seeing new faces the drama the peeps showing new weapons overall etc. I have allot reasons to stay i just hate dt story and wuk but not enough to make me quit.

7.1 is it for me. I've stated more than a few times (and once in this thread) that I was waiting for 7.1 because I normally love Alliance Raids. I thought Jueno was completely boring. Gonna hand over my FC house to a friend this weekend then hit the cancel button.

I only come here to play the retirement home of MMO's after seething from M+/Mythic in WoW.

Just to log out after an hour because the 2.5 GCD makes me vomit in my mouth because it feels like I'm playing with 5000 ping or something.

Also did some treasure maps today and I'm still astonished how archaic and bad the party/DC systems in this game are, it's actually insane. I have to make a Cross Server party which only shows for my datacenter (lol) and then if we actually want to do something together, like a treasure map, we have to be in the same area and I have to convert it to a local party? So many loops to hop through for such a simple thing. Just have normal phasing like WoW does which is 20 years old.

Not much else to do. I've been away from WoW too long to return. Here, I'm leveling one job at a time to 100, mainly via tribal quests, daily / weekly hunts. Asso, collecting nuts and tomes via hunt trains. and leveling lower level jobs to 80 for the Amaro mount (3 to go).

Why do you stick with FFXIV?

I've stuck with it for a couple of reasons. A good friend of mine introduced me to the game late stormblood era. Since squenix changed a job so drastically that it left a "pet class" type job open and vacant, I'm waiting to see what they unveil with beast master. Will they just make it into a "pet class" type job and the various creatures you go around taming will be broken up between the 3 roles? Will you be able to name them or will it just be a default name? Will they keep it very basic, or will they allow you sort of specialize in a similar way of putting points into an artifact weapon for its stats, that you'd be able to do the same thing with your creatures? Will they bungle the whole thing up and do something stupid to it while trying to make it "original"?

I came back after a couple of years properly, and resubbed completely in earnest to play the game, finish Dawntrail and engage with my FC again. It was great to see them again... Until I realised that we never gathered at the FC house anymore unless it was for maps. And then came the members I didn't like from "alliances" that had been formed... We used to be a safe haven from the wider community. Now it's part of us, and my FC leader says I'm welcome to counter argue with them if we have a disagreement. Uhm... No. I'm not arguing with ideologues who use the buzzwords.
I left the Discord and uninstalled the game, and now I'm waiting for my sub to lapse.

My FC is very active, and that's partly because they play a litany of other games that I've zero interest in. I miss the old days of gathering round the fire pit and actually doing stuff together, all of us. Two of my friends server transferred and one then left entirely, and they were the ones I was closest to. I still talk to them, but I don't have any games to play with them now. My partner doesn't play anymore because as far as he's concerned, Endwalker was where it ended. I have one close friend who's still in the FC, but he's sick of the new culture within it as well.

Combined with the MSQ (I haven't even done the first dungeon, I'm just that sick of Wuk Lamat and yes she was dreadful and insufferable in 6.55 as well), my sense of community breaking down, and then the game itself beginning to break with black squares flashing in the sky, I took it as providence. This game isn't *for me*. This community (which is very important to me as a person, I wish it wasn't and I could ignore it) isn't *for me*.

It was my saaafe spaaaace against the modbeasts, and now it's gone forever. There will never be any nights around the fire pit again, and it hurts.

I've gone back to WoW, where I play with my partner and the last friend. It's been good fun. I was enjoying WHM before I left, and Holy Priest feels very similar but expanded upon. It's actually been years since I've healed, when I used to do Holy Paladin and Resto Druid. FFXIV, to its credit, has encouraged a DPS and heal culture in WoW that has helped me to become a better player in both.

It seems today is actually my last day of my sub. It's been really difficult to let go of this game. I just hope I can.
