"I don't like this new stuff you create. Create new stuff I do like instead."
This is exactly why they have no interest in even listening to players.
Just because you personally don't like it doesn't mean it shouldn't exist.
Honestly I feel like the only reason the game hasn’t crashed into the ground just yet is due to the modbeasts. Don’t even need to make content for them, just don’t break mods and good to go.
While I can see your viewpoint, from my viewpoint as someone who didnt like ARR hildibrand and by proxy, couldn't do the EW relics because they were locked behind a tedious chore list, I disagree
"But you can skip the cutscenes in an hour or so!" - Valid, but I dont want to skip them, I want a new "boarding" point, a recap, or as other people suggest, a new start with a cast of fresh characters as a side quest. Not to just skip for an hour because the devs decided they wanted to force us to do sidecontent
At this point I think hildibrand is a waste of resources because that budget could go into the MSQ writing, more dungeons, more gear development ... but who are we kidding, they would just axe hildi and say "sorry we are busy with working!" while adding another emote to the store that isnt account wide
So anyways, if you like Hildi, cool, I dont. Should it cease to exist?, Not really, Do I want a new sidequest with different characters with similar animation budget? Yeah
Unironically the self expression and attachment mods have created for some people with their WoLs is doing some HEAVY, HEAAAVY lifting in terms of keeping them subbed
The question is if they'll ever reach a point where they are done with it. Viera and hrothgar hats were supposed to be done during the course of Shadowbringers, and that came out over 5 years ago.I will say this: They originally extended the dev cycle to give themselves more time to get the graphics update worked out. My big huff of copium and what I'm holding out on hope for is that once they have finally finished with all of that, they will use that extra time to do QoL changes and shake up the dev cycle to give us more stuff to do than "here's a dungeon. Here's a raid tier. Have fun." I'm really hoping they have big plans to capitalize on that extra dev time economy.
Are you actually being surprised at politics? If I'm involved into something, I have as much right as you have to make my voice heard and say that yes, indeed, I don't like something I'm being served and I'd rather have something else that I do like.
More news at 11.
( and I don't mind Hildibrand but like the msq or any quest story it's not going to add a lot of replayability at endgame )
Every player looks out for their own interest; nobody's happy that they're spending time and money on content they don't care for. Expecting entertainment you paid for to be as enjoyable as possible is just common sense. It's up to SE go gather individual data and make something out of it to decide what direction to take the game's development in.
What a weird comment you made.
oh. back to doomposting then![]()
Work-life balance is important. So there's a secret third option to solve the apparent labor shortage - hire more people. Does it take a year to train someone on the spaghetti code that ff14 is built on? yeah, Yoshi-P talked about it. But it gets to a point where re-investing into the cash cow is kind of important. I hope SE sees the light some day.

Because there are already 1,000 other games like that, and lots of people like me who are at least slightly completionist, but will not be abused like this.
So once we have fallen behind, we can never catchup and now everything is spoiled and its game over.
'unlocked reward tiers' taint a game so profoundly its follows every moment of the game for us.
I creates a 'stank'.
I already might never re-sub because housing is now inaccessible to me because I will never be stuck subbing month to month again, so now my experience is forever more second class.
I know... one wealthy person who plays Genshin, and for them I can understand it. But anyone less wealthy that spends any money gambling on games like that for pretty pixels, to me you just come across as having mental/health addictive personality issues. You come across as an exploited 'vulnerable' and it just seems sad.
Anything that is even slightly 'FEAR Of Missing Out' is kind of viscerally repulsive.
I start to feel awkward around people who even talk about Hoyo games, its just feels kind of embarrassing.
Sadly there are content creators that make me feel like this now.
So that and... I probably just won't be able to feel like I relate to the people in the game 'because' they 'are in' the game.
Its abusive.
I won't be abused.
Its not for me.
I'm sorry I'm enough of a looser as it is but that really is for Loosers or the super wealthy. I have my dignity frankly.
