They don't need a battle pass, they need to get their shit together and get out of the covid patch cycle, right now, every other game i play has events on the month they should be on, and it's not just a single set, or a single emote, and most have past event items and mini games to do, we don't even get the haunted house every year, we get nothing but talking to a few NPC's.

Honestly if it wasn't for the modding scene, this game would be so screwed and they know it.

Holy true, it's exactly that, there's such little creativity injected inot the game and such lengthy patch cycles that modbeasts and balmung are keeping the game alive as is, and the plugins that are made for QOL are being put in the game years later too, modders are literally carrying the population of the game.

Ironic because when I transfered DC I joined a new FC. As wonderful as the people were the graphics modding scene was 'rampant'. And I do mean raMPANT!
With Mods there is no style guide.
The games social features are... not very helpful.
Without Discord this game I think might have failed. It certainly wouldn't have had the success needed to deliver ShB. So Discord for me is important.
But I found the game unrecognisable in that heavily modded discord. I love gpose channels but this one just left me feeling culture shocked and like I was in strange and unfamiliar lands.
I play lala, and I love this games naive innocence It was neutral and there is always room for me to imprint my outlook and relate. The moded gposes, I just couldn't relate. It was frankly almost intimidating.
The people were lovely, but I left the FC, and later that day I finally unsubbed.
Modding is a double edged sword.
I will never mod unless I have time to build a separate OS, or all the mod developers go open source.
(If you 'trust' mods your a moron frankly. If you don't trust the mods you use but rather just 'accept' the risk as you estimate it then that's different. To anyone who says that just doesn't happen though, I'll highlight how pretty borderline malware that gshade was, and the very least 'good judgement' was evidently absent. Without good judgement anything is now possible.)

Couldn't all that time have been used better and something new created? For example, a banker in the game who stores all items, so that retainers only sell items or go exploring?
I didn't want to be the one to point this out, but if you are going by the numbers of what percentage of players engage with the different content types, then one of the things that would be 'logical' to stop creating to free up developer time for QoL and other things, would be the savage raids and ultimates... so maybe this isn't a good way to approach it.

Unironically as a damage raider I don’t mind this. Ever since EW the game has tilted far too much towards high end content anyway

We don’t need savage, ultimate, criterion, criterion savage and savage alliance raids while casual content is dying on the floor

Hildebrand I wouldn’t trust its numbers anymore ever since they forced it for the relic

As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.

I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess

As someone who doesn’t do ultimate I have an honest question to those who do them.
    Are two ultimates even wanted?
I saw people seriously burning out about the two ultimates last time.

Zepla made a point I've been screaming for years. Release a bugged mess vs the same old stale tripe. I want a new experience and bugs are part of the fun

I've seen a lot of raiders throwing a tantrum when only one ultimate could be released in ShB, so yes, I do believe they're wanted by a small population of players.
They are also the epitome of "prestige" content, which tends to bias things a lot more when it comes to how many players actually engage with them. Much more than savage.

I'm a savage raider looking to dip my toes into Ultimates and I agree. I enjoy raiding, I enjoy the challenge of learning the mechanics of a difficult fight, but it is something that requires dedicated time set aside and coordination with a group of others to play. It's not something I can just jump into casually to have some fun after a long day. And I really miss having something like that. Bozja scratched that itch for me. I could hop in and play anytime, and the content was challenging enough and required some communications so as not be totally brain dead, but didn't require the amount of time and coordination that something like Savage does. I never got into Criterion because I already have a static that meets twice a week to raid, and now I need to find three other people to dedicate time to do a different kind of raid that doesn't even give me anything I want or need? No. It's literally not worth my time.
