PS5 recognizing Controller input, but not executing it 95% of the time

    Hello,

    as the title states:
I'm having an issue with the controller input (PS5 Controller on PS5):

You can see on the screen that the buttons are being pressed (feedback), so the input is recognized but not executed 95% of the time.

The problem only occurs with FFXIV, but it works perfectly with all other PS5 games.

I've tried many different things, but the problem persists.
It's seems NOT related to the internet connection, and there is no lag (player movements and my own actions happen in real-time, etc.).

I’ve tried different internet connections (home network WiFi, mobile hotspot) and the same problem occurs.

A few days ago, there was an update for the PS5, but none for the PS5 controllers. (I connected it, and it said it was up to date.)
    (... and much more)

    - Problems started yesterday at Friday afternoon after some Server Errors/Disconnects.
    - Datacenter, Server: Light, Phoenix

Good morning and thank you for posting in the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Forums.

If you are experiencing issues with the PlayStation version of Final Fantasy XIV, please try the following:
    ■ Perform a system update on your PlayStation®5
Perform the most recent system update and then try a version update for FINAL FANTASY XIV Online.
PlayStation®5: The update can be performed from the home menu by selecting
[Settings] → [System] → [System Software] → [System Software Update]
    ■ Remove peripheral devices to create a simpler environment for the program to run
Remove any peripheral USB devices (gamepads, cameras, microphones, headsets, etc.) to create a more stable, simple environment for your console to run the game. Also consider inserting the devices to different USB ports or removing and reinserting them.
    ■ If possible, please try using other controllers.
    ■ Re-install FINAL FANTASY XIV Online
If the installed data has been corrupted, the issue may be resolved by re-installing the game.
If all else fails, try doing a system restore/factory reset on the system as a last resort as follows:
    1. Navigate to the Settings menu (cog icon)
    2. Select System software
    3. Select Reset options
    4. Select Reset your console
    5. Select Reset

If the installed data has been corrupted, the issue may be resolved by re-installing the game. Additionally, if you are using the PlayStation 5 specific version of the game client, try using the PlayStation 4 original version to see if that may help as an optional solution.

Additionally, there is a chance that the describe issue may be related associated with interference with the game data. Most of the time, it results from certain security/privacy changes on PSN web browser. Please make sure that "Cookies" and "JavaScript" are ENABLED on the PSN Browser. This can be done by going to the web browser on the PlayStation, press the options button, then go to settings. The options for Cookies and Javascript will most likely be checked, uncheck them and then recheck them.

The fault may also lie with the "Date & Time" settings on your PlayStation. We would advise to please follow the provided steps to adjust your console's clock to assure it is accurate and up-to-date:
Close the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
    Go to [SETTINGS].
Select [Date and Time], and "Set via Internet". (Please do not manually set the date and time.)
Once, the date and time settings have been updated, please restart your PlayStation console.
Once your console has fully restarted, please start the FINAL FANTASY XIV game/application.
Please make sure all other internet-enabled devices (including smartphones, laptop/desktop PCs, tablets, etc.) have been disabled and/or turned OFF to minimize game interference.

Try power cycling the system by shutting down the game and turning off the system completely. Unplug all the wires from the back and hold the power button down for 10 seconds. After doing that, please plug everything back in and turn the PlayStation on. Once the system is on, please launch the game. Doing so will clear the cookies and the cache.

We hope this information is helpful. Thank you for visiting the Final Fantasy XIV Technical Support Forums!
