I also liked Wuk Lamat, and so did the friends I play with. I'll admit the story and characterization were not as good as Shadowbringers, Heavensward or Endwalker, but I still would put it about on par with Stormblood or ARR. Not my favorite, but still enjoyable. And Wuk for me was a delight. I don't see what all the fuss is about her VA, except in a few places where there was awkwardly written dialogue. Regardless, everyone is entitled to their opinion. For myself, I'm looking forward to more msq to see how her and Koana's story ends.
I like Wuk Lamat too, she's such a goober!
It's such a shame how much DT criticism has been poisoned by bad faith.

I don't dislike her either. I mean, as things stand, she's not in my top 5 of favorite NPCs but I certainly don't hate her.
In fact the only time I came close to developing a strong dislike of her was when she interfered in the Queen Eternal fight.
main character syndrome? I don't have that not gonna lie I enjoy seeing a story on the side way much more then being the main character I loved dawntrail for that the reason why I compare DT to Majora's mask because both are the same well not completely but story driven is the same
Respectfully disagree. Queen Eternal clearly said that WE were "the single greatest threat" which was why she kept us on the 'battlefield'. Having Wuk Lamat gatecrash the fight contradicted that. I mean, what were we supposed to take away from that? That Queen Eternal was wrong and Wuk Lamat was a greater threat? Because that was the message I took away from it. Hell, Wuk Lamat herself outright made it about herself at that point - she tells Sphene to face HER, not US.
So yeah - it didn't actually make very much sense at all.
Same. Honestly that was my only real complaint: I wanted Krile (and Erenville) to have more of the spotlight in the second half, and hopefully she gets it in the patches.
I’m on a second play through with one of my alts, and it’s a lot better taking my time than it was rushing through my initial play through because I don’t have any patience when I want to see the end of the story! lol
I feel like the writers really did Wuk dirty, because they rushed a lot of her characterization and she could've been way better. As soon as Endwalker finalized, 6.1 should've been introducing us to Wuk and steadily building hype for her hometown while foreshadowing ZJJ and BJJ's situations in the background via "MEANWHILE, IN TURAL" type scenes or something. Instead, we got this weird void ark filler quest for ff4 fans to jerk off over, and it didn't even go anywhere. It just wrapped up, and then tasked 6.55 with introducing Wuk and giving us a motive to help her.
I'm bored at work but peep this hypothetical. 6.1 should've been our introduction to Wuk, who's initially shown as a carefree and cheerful (if not a bit too boisterous) individual who has a hard time asking for assistance. You can show this by having her stubbornly take on enemies that are way too strong for her or something, and feeling ashamed when we have to bail her out. End it on a happy note, but cut away to a scene with Bakool Jaja winning a bloodsport tournament and being given access to the greater dawn throne tournament.
6.2, more light characterization of Wuk Lamat through typical .2 light adventuring stuff. She's still carefree, but we begin to see that there's something weighing on her mind that she's hesitant to tell us about; this can be expanded upon with flashbacks or the echo maybe. Maybe Erenville notices first and asks her if she's alright, but she perks up again and says she's fine, thus continuing the trend of her still being too proud to ask for help. That kind of thing. 6.2 ends. Cutaway to Zoraal Jaja in a meeting with Gulool Jaja; ZJJ is proposing some borderline psychotic expansion type shit, and GJJ's head of Reason calls him insane for wanting to shatter decades of longstanding peace and boots him from the room. ZJJ stomps back to his military platoon, where he's free to rant and be bitter about how soft his nation is. He drops some vague hints about how "when that time comes," they'll march on Garlemald's ashes, and his men seem eager to follow him straight into Hell.
6.3 arrives and Krile starts bringing up her lineage, maybe we actually do a precursor dive into that to build some hype for it there, with Wuk growing increasingly worried about her responsibilities. Every moment of levity is punctuated by guilt of the responsibility she's shirking by refusing to ask for our help and using us as a distraction to avoid thinking about the pressure weighing her down. 6.3 ends with us exploring some ruins hinted at by Krile's grandfather and killing some trial boss. Wuk sees that our team is legit strong as hell. Maybe we save her life and build some trust up while adventuring. idk. Cutaway to Gulool back home, finalizing the dawn throne tournament; the head of reason is doing most of the work at this point, and as he pens the last of it he takes his permanent nap. The head of Resolve mourns in silence as it cuts to black; this can be presented in a way that makes his death seem uncertain to the viewer, but with hindsight it would be quite obvious.
6.4 arrives and we finally start to receive news from our trade partners ( when we arrive in the new world people are literally cool with trading in gil, so don't act like we don't have traders going there already) of excitement/borderline unrest building up in and around the area where Wuk is from. Wuk can't really hide it from us anymore and tells us about the rite of succession. Maybe she even reveals that she's got her hat in the ring, idk. Maybe include more Krile stuff to pad it out, idk. 6.4 ends with a cutaway to Bakool Jaja back at home, ominously standing over a pile of jars and having a discussion with himself (he is two heads, remember) where he wrestles with what he feels like he has to do "for their [the dead] sake" before finally steeling himself for the tasks ahead.
6.5 arrives, the pieces are all pretty much in place now, and after all these patches Wuk finally feels like she is capable of asking for our help with the whole dawn throne thing. We've known her for a while at this point and, ideally, have seen her be a good person over the course of all these patches, so agreeing to help her is like a no-brainer. Of course we'll help; we're her friend, and this feels natural to the player. 6.5 ends with some very light foreshadowing of Sphene's realm, maybe show a shot of her from behind, looking out over a thunder-ravaged hellscape and looking worried, just really really light stuff so she doesn't come out of nowhere.
6.55 has us doing generic "getting ready, gathering supplies, calm before the storm" type stuff, ending with the culmination of ZJJ/BJJ/GJJ finalizing their plans in the background. And then 7.0 launches with a fleshed out and characterized Wuk Lamat who no longer needs to be shoehorned into every goddamned scene. They've also foreshadowed a lot of the villain backstory stuff so BJJ's heel-turn into a good guy doesn't feel like it comes out of nowhere, and Sphene doesn't feel like a hail mary to the uguuuuu anime moe crowd.
idk man, i'm not a lore god or anything obviously. i'm just bummed that they had a whole new expansion coming out and they put all the introductory work on 6.55. like, what the hell were they thinking. dt regularly felt like they either used AI to write it or straight up had no plan going in and just wrote it in one draft without editing it or going back to implement foreshadowing or ANYTHING. Wuk could've been a good character; they just didn't even seem to try to do it right with her. She felt rushed. It really felt like some writer went "oh shit" and tried to cram all this characterization into 7.0 while also introducing a new continent and a whole story. I've edited this post like 8 times so I'll stop now.
I thought she was enjoyable, I kind of want to see how she will deal with the conflict with Alexandria in the upcoming patches!
