dont skip the cutscenes in 7.1 you wont be able to critizise wuk if you just skip
I wonder if Crossroads will see the Scions "divided" further than they were in 7.0. The only division the Scions had was some stayed home while some went sailing, and then a couple of them sided with the guy who would eventually go from rival to partner. If that's all the "division" was supposed to be, then, nice bait-and-switch, SE. I can't wait to see what the next bait-and-switch is gonna be. "Crossroads", maybe? They call it "Crossroads", but the only thing that makes the story feel like "Crossroads" is a casual mention of the word in mid-conversation, in the middle of a scene that 90% of the playerbase is going to insta-skip because of a certain someone.
Three Ilm Knights, One Thousand Malm Road
You guys whine too much about nothing.
I never liked characters like naruto and luffy for it was the side characters that made it great. DT is all about wuk lamat and other characters get no real screentime so it sucks and becomes a very boring story.
It's more than likely a reference to Eden Ultimate specifically. "Crossroads" was the name of the quest in which Minfilia relinquished the remainder of her powers as Oracle of Light to RyneI wonder if Crossroads will see the Scions "divided" further than they were in 7.0. Glamour without restrictions* is long overdue!
If you think so too, help keep the thread going!

Theyve mentioned several time during dev talks theyre close to a year in advanced in most development, and more so along with the story. Often the final touches to patch are just localization things. So yeah as much people want to believe they should do a massive Uturn on the story, they really can not. Sure they can write up a new story but implementation is a whole other task. Its why we see changes we ask for so late... it literally takes the years to do it, they only ever prioritize stuff if its breaking the game or they already have a back up planned...The 7.x patches are not finished and are not even finalized yet. They are still maleable and can be changed with enough feedback from the community. That's the purpose of giving feedback on these forums. To get the Dev team and Community team's attention to tell them what players want, and they can make changes to reflect that.
That's how live service games work.
We want better writing and don't want any more of Wuk Lamat taking center stage over Krile, Erenville, and our WoLs, and are willing to unsub if it doesn't improve in 7.1. This thread is to convey that. It's not that complicated.
This is not true, there was a dev talk linked above from earlier in the month where Yoshida mentioned the changes they had made and are making to Wuk from 6.55 and 7.0 feedback.Theyve mentioned several time during dev talks theyre close to a year in advanced in most development, and more so along with the story. How is that possible if these patches are locked down a year in advance like you and others are saying? If it's impossible to change anything about the patch quests right now and these are locked down a year in advance, how is it that Yoshida can say they are focusing on making Wuk much more confident and showcasing her strength because of the feedback from 7.0?

And congratulation you're missing the point ... again, but that's par for the course for you. Sometime I wonder if you just genuinely miss the point or just deflecting it on purpose.
That's a wholly unfair comparison:
- They got their best staff from across Square Enix to suspend their other projects to frantically adapt their new engine (meant for Single Player games) to work for an MMORPG.
- They had so many staff working on it that they worked on 2.0 while still making patches for 1.0. In a way they kept up this habit by making patches for expansions while working on the next expansion.
- Yoshi-P kept a spreadsheet of how long they took to do tasks that accounted even for bathroom breaks and mathematically optimized it so they could remake the game in just 2 years (it normally took longer to make a good game, especially an MMORPG). This wasn't healthy for his team (most likely why after 10 years he decided to increase the gap between patches).
- They reused a lot of assets and salvaged lore and designs. Let's be honest - this is what made it possible to finish ARR as quickly as they did. Things like the Twelve were designed going back to 2005. Many of the ARR dungeons, textures, models, area concepts, characters and feature inspirations were salvaged from 1.0.
The point is: if they can remodel the whole house (1.0 to 2.0) in the course of 9-15months, they surely can rewrite a 1h story segment in 4-5 months. Sure, they gonna have to re-recording a few line, rebuilding a few scenes but common, you're making it sounds like to change Wuk Lamat they'll have to redesign the combat, building a new system and creating new dungeons or something. And why are you pretending the staffs management is something I'm supposed to care about, that's Yoshi's problem, not mine.
Frankly, I think some of us are looking at this as a litmus test for the game. To see how serious and commit Yoshi is about "making thing right" ... and so far, it's not looking good. You can make any number of excuse on their behalf you want, all I see is the same "business as usual". My sub already ran out, and I'll keep an eyes on the game till the end of this year. Unless I see some real and honest afford putting into the game by that point, I probably won't come back. And I don't care if there are a laundry list of reasons showing how is that a short table or I'm being unfair ... I just don't care, some of us just tired of waiting. This is not when they can continue business usual, this is when they need to go the extra mile, or miles.
Especially now, unlike 5-6 years ago, these days there are A LOT better options out there for that 15$/month. Even if none of what I had said so far really matter to Yoshi and his team, than at the very least this I think they should be waking up to this fact.
