I was really hoping that at most Wuk Lamat would just stay in her throne room from here on out. From the 7.1 website it looks like she'll be following us around again.
Personally disappointed. I guess the mass feedback about her didn't go very far.

You realize this stuff was already set in stone by the time your feedback was presented, yes?
"You haven't proven that it is safe, you've (only) proved that you can't figure out how it's dangerous."
Yep, as soon as I saw that I realized they listened to absolutely none of the fedback from 7.0 and are just going to steamroll ahead to try to push that mary sue even more. Should be used to it since almost every large item the community has been asking for needs to be screamed from the rooftops for 6+ years straight before Yoshida even thinks about looking into how feasible it is to put into the game.
We're really talking to a wall when we give feedback on here it seems. It's even more wild when you look at live service games like Mihoyo's offerings and see that they can on a dime transition their story, mission structure, and character types they're making to meet feedback. All we get is silence and excuses at the live letter every 6 months.
Endwalker was delayed for a script rewrite so we know they absolutely can make changes so close to release, but only on their terms when they want to. What the community wants? Ehhhh maybe in a few years if they feel like it.
Yoshi-P in his last live letter said that he had just approved the trailer concept for 8.0. The 7.x series is all planned out and if you think anything is going to change between now and 8.0 then you are kidding yourself. Also saying they have listened to none of the feedback is just disingenuous because they have changed job design and numbers based on what people wanted. The fact is that the 7.x content has been in production for probably over a year already so they can't just change it on a whim.Yep, as soon as I saw that I realized they listened to absolutely none of the fedback from 7.0 and are just going to steamroll ahead to try to push that mary sue even more. Bringing up Mihoyo as an example shows an incredible lack of knowledge of how anything works. The biggest company in the world, making the most expensive and highest grossing game ever which is designed around a 6 week patch cycle, is nothing like XIV at all. It's much easier to change content when the patch cycle is so short and they have an infinite amount of money to throw at it.
I figured, but considering the writing for a patch MSQ is like a total of 1 hour of content, and they now take 4 to 5 months per patch, I hoped they could have course corrected just a tad.
It seems, that SQEX is not very flexible when it comes to change things.
But they named the main scenario "Crossroads". Maybe finally the players will find Mankrik's Wife.
Cheers
Considering SE moves at a glacier's pace when it comes to any sort of adjustments or feedback responses. Yeah...
Granted, in this particular case, it's not just the writing they'd have to scrap but animation, VA and etc. It's not like a balance change that is mostly numbers, thus warranting more criticism when they take forever and a day to address. That being said, I'm very tempted to just hit ESC throughout 7.1 for the first time through a MSQ patch release. I just can't be bothered with Wuk Lamat scene hogging.
"Stand in the ashes of a trillion dead souls and ask the ghosts if honor matters."
"The silence is your answer."
