Yes because cutting the seasonal events 6 years ago back to this beige garbage has certainly got us more repeatable content

You are attempting to chose between A and B when square will give us neither then acting like people who ask for both are the problem

It was literally Jan 2022 when we got the new instance for All Saints Wake that got delayed because of the pandemic, which seems to be what ya'll think is the pinnacle of gameplay that is so sorely missing.

And again, I never said that. I want more content in the game, and I could complain about the lack of things getting put in the game, but that's not what this thread is about so I don't feel the need to air that out here, since the thread is about seasonal events which I think are fine as they are.

Ffxiv makes "a new story" every event,
while other mmos focus on gameplay over story
and replay the same event years after years..

FFXIV could stop with the story and go same path,
focus on gameplay and just replay the same events like other mmos... = save both money/time actually.

Hmm a 10 min story or a week of gameplay for the event.. I go for gameplay.

Even if it wasn't that good (or bad) at least it felt like there were some efforts put into the event. This is disheartening to see how apathetic they currently are. At that point I expect to watch the ff14 version of "You think you do but you don't" or "Don't you guys have phone" during a fan festival.

They never have been the fastest to react to feedback or the most audacious when it come to trying new things but damn did it worsen over the years.

I agree. This probably won't ever fit the nature of FFxiv but I wouldn't mind a small, temporary but seasonal dungeons where you could go in, participate with a match-making group for an outfit or two, mounts or other trinkets with seasonal bosses. (But - maybe this sounds too close to Criterion.)

I'd have this more rather than running event dungeons for RNG drops which I get only 1 chance per day, account wide, where event exclusive rare items have a ~1% chance for you to get it.

Here, I finish a quest series, get the event items and ... get to look around and enjoy the rest of the event on my own.
