These are not wondrous pieces sci-fi imagination like Final Fantasy XIII, and etc all the others.

Most outfits in some FF games are completely modern, with the exception of Vincent, Yuffie and Cloud, all outfits in FF7 are things nobody would bat an eye to, the Turks, characters often praised for their stylish fashion, literally just wear suits, the most modern-looking outfit imaginable, and let's not even start talking about Noctis' gaggle of losers(endearment) in FF15, "wondrous magitek" isn't the only way that FF has ever broken JRPG norms, and you need to engage with some absurd cherry picking to pretend otherwise.

Event glams are not “free” they are “included” with the price of a paid subscription. Which we know will end up in the cash shop afterwards, so nobody gets them for free. Unless you’re lucky enough to get an event during a free login campaign, like some people.

I miss when The Rising used to have us talk to devs who weren't YoshiP. I'm more interested in seeing comments from other parts of the dev team rather than the guy I hear from all the time. We might have only done it once or twice but it was a really nice way to see and hear from the people responsible for making the game I love. The past rising event just being YoshiP alone was eye roll inducing, especially after DT and the disdain that comes from the lead up to it with fanfest. So having this event just kinda be... meh... disappoints me even more.

7 is also purely relatively modern sci-fi. 14 started off a mix of low and high fantasy(which is normal for the series), then added modern era outfits as cosmetics, and has more recently gone completely off the rails into Synthwave territory. Any sense of stylistic cohesion has been thrown out the window.

You are also ignoring FFXIV is a game where we literally have been to different worlds and realities, to the edge of the universe, met and befriended multiple multiple alien species, including one that has made extensive databases out of every species they deemed worthwhile in their conquest, the world has become more than globalized, it has become universalized, none of this happened overnight, it was all built towards, with things being shared between all those cultures as time goes on, and yet I see people clutching their pearls over what is a black and purple suit with some edgy detailing, it's like you insist in acting the world of FFXIV is still what it was in ARR.
