    Next Exploration Area

    Please consider using something else than the usual, lazy, creatively bankrupt fate grind and mob farming we have seen so far for the next field operation zone. I do think everybody would win with content more engaging than excruciatingly tedious and boring gameplay with literally zero depth behind like that.

    ( Yes, CLL and Dalriada were good )

    As above, I would set a realistic expectation.

    The core of the content is likely to be underpinned by glorified FATEs and monster grinds.

    Not that it's going to be bad by any means, but there's not going to be anything revolutionary for the core of the content. Expect some tweaks and reworks based on the highs and lows of Eureka and Bozja, honestly.

    I'll be surprised or impressed if they pull something out of the hat, but I am not expecting it.

    The FATEs weren't quite as bad as in the open world. Sometimes they had rough mechanics like the red chocobo one. They are better and more threatening than the FATEs we get outside them, but still get destroyed by the sheer amount of people.

    They did have CEs though which had the sort of development dungeon bosses get. It looks like those will continue.

    But I hope they try some new ideas in there as well, since there's no reason not to.

    Honestly, I loved both Eureka & Bozja, and while I don't have any major expectations. I'd love to see new ideas and not the same formula they've been using with other content for years now.

    I'm a pessimist and the way XIV has been going for a while is not exactly going to change my stance, quite the opposite. If anything, I am not expecting anything to happen and we'll get served boring fates as the core filler of the content, and we'll enjoy it (or else).

    This will however never make me back down and tell them a piece of my mind about that kind of core content.

    Those fates/CEs where glorified trial bosses with the same usual regurgitated basic or modern mechanics, nothing else. No creativity. No thanks.

    New things? I'm not the game designer here. But if you want a piece of my mind, I don't think those exploratory zones would be too shabby with rogue lite randomized systems to keep things fresh and interesting instead of rotating between identical fates/CEs. That's just an idea among many, maybe it's a bad idea, maybe it's good, I don't know. I'm sure they can come up with more.

    CLL and Dalriada were new things. Unfortunately they were the final instances of areas and not part of the main progression, which was locked behind boredom.

    I saved my last bits of copium for the moment before 7.0 launch, it went something like this. Ehem ehem.

    "The reason they made Endwalker into a smashed package of two expansions in one, suffering from pacing issues, fast forwarding important bits like Garlemald and weird fillery content like Labyrinthos was because they wanted to save their ammunition for Dawntrail and surprises us with something huge and different for a whole new story arc, with lots and lots of QoL and new systems."

    And instead I got SMILE.
