I hate when people tell others what they "actually" want. I want 1.0 AND 1.23b. I want to experience everything. Considering I actually enjoyed my time in 1.0 when most people say what you do about it; I'm sure I'd be just fine. (I got into the beta, only reason i didn't play 1.0 right form launch was because it nearly destroyed my computer simply entering Limsa; i had a new one by the time i picked the game back up). As someone with a degree in Production Animation and know how games are made; I don't just come at games from a consumer standpoint; but also a critical eye, both artistically and mechanically. Despite how horrible people claim it to be, there's always something to be learned; and something worth preserving. (imo). And XI isn't the same as XIV 1.0; they had similar systems, but weren't the same.

Exactly this! The waste of just totally getting rid of it T-T ... give us the source code at least so we can do it ourselves. (And someone mentioned they just deleted it, which seems even more wasteful. Reminds me of the sadness of finding out we'll never get remasters of the PS2 .hack// quadrilogy because they LOST the source code like...wtf? Glad i still have my original discs...)

Wishful thinking OP. I'd play it, I surely would. But Square hasn't been run by the creatives in a long time. No Suit is gonna green light it.

Oh man... I do get that. I don't play Ragnarok Online anymore, but anytime I listen to its sound effects, they're so satisfying and nostalgic. 1.0 had a very particular and rather neat sound scape, thought I'm pretty sure ARR's sound effects will have the same effect on must of us 20 years down the line.

despite the rose coloured tint you are viewing things through, 1.0 wasnt all that grand.

and you would want to pull development and money from what we have now, to put into something that was worse? and please dont say you wouldnt expect improvements to it as it aged... poorly... which would pull more time and money away from what we are playing now.

so.. I would be against bringing back 1.0. it came and went.. let it rest where it lays
