Is there a huge delay between purchasing game time and it being made active?

So i bought the ful version of the game with all expansions.

I am aware that i need a subscription. So i went to the subscription renewal page, selected the 90 day period and then put my card details in. I hit accept and my banks page pops up on the SE webpage that i clickd to make the purchase, asking for verification in the bank app that i use. Which i approve in my phones banks app.

The SE page that was stopped, refreshed on it's own without me pushing the :" I approved this purchase in the app" button that normally happens everywhere else.

So now it appears i approved a 90 day game time purchase and even approved it in my bank app yet the SE interface shows neither the game time nor a possible gaem time card number in case that is what i had purchased instead.

So no i am reluctant to do anything but wait and see till the sub runs out as that will tell me for sure if the money was requested.

No money was taken out of my account yet mind you. I went through all the steps it seems up and and including authorizing this in my bank app.

Will this money be taken on the end of the game time that came with the purchase of the full client? Does the full version game come with any game time?

I am asking since i was using the free trial account and was not required to have game time yet.

I am confused here. Help me out pls

There is only a delay when an expansion is not released yet and you pre-order it. Since that's not the case, there should be no delay (or not a significant one).

Once you purchase the game or an expansion, the retailer sends you an email with a code which you enter via the mog station. The retailer is not always Square Enix and the Square Enix store is technically a separate website/retailer, as confusing as that is.

Banking apps don't always ask for approval, even though they do pretty often.

It should be noted that if a transaction fails, it can still appear that money was withdrawn from the bank temporarily, but it is returned within a few days when the bank "clears" it. This is a small test to see if there is any money in the account in the first place. I've not seen this happen on most websites, but have once or twice and one of them was SE (because I had to contact them for clarification).

Since you said money wasn't withdrawn, I would guess that the transaction didn't go through, but I would suggest checking your email to see if there is a game code + Dawntrail code. If you use Steam, it's in your Properties then CD Keys section and it may work differently in the Playstation or Xbox stores.

Speaking of that, you purchase the expansions separately for each platform (PC, Steam, Playstation, Xbox) and they are not compatible with eachother.

Does the full version game come with any game time?
I am asking since i was using the free trial account and was not required to have game time yet.

I could be wrong, but i believe this is what is happening here. The first time you purchase the base game(which is of course included in the full version) it should come with 30 days. So it wouldnt look to take any money from your account until those 30 days are up. With that said, ive been on full version for years now. If someone who has done this more recently wants to confirm(or correct me for that matter) im all for it.

I purchased the full game with all expansions here on their platform in a separate process from the subscription. I would not be surprised if indeed their processes are stopping the actual purchase, if there is active "free" time left on the game. If the base game purchase does indeed come wih game time then this would not be the first game i have played that does delay any purchase of additional time, till your paid for time is either up, or very nearly there. It is just weird to see large corps sitting with the authority to take your money but dont.

I was just surprised to see the practice considring that companies ususally do not shy away from taking your funds for paid up front endeavours.

The only reason i am even asking is because now that money has to sit in the account till the month is over and i dont like that. Either take the money now or dont at all. I find it like a sword of damocles hanging over my head. It, the money, is gone, but it isnt.

I am trying hard not to get anything else on steam if i can help it, so i avoid that platform. I have my own personal reasons for that. Steam is a fine service, till the day it not longer is and you are locked out of it, for what ever reasons. Mine being a bootstrap error that dates back to 2011. That was 4 months of being locked out of paid for content.

So that was when i decided to seriously limit any purchases on a platform that could very easily take away your right to use the products you buy there. I tried everything to get it to work up to and including a full OS refresh. Nothing got rid of that client bootsrapr error till they released a version of steam that was either fixed or compatible with my hardware. Which was not out of the ordinary. AMD phenom 2 platform with a 6850 card.

Anyway. So the game was bought here and some people may think it was silly of me not to get the details of whether or not the full game purchase came with game time or not. They are right.

I think WoW, that terribly manipulative game, seems to be the only one i know of that does not come with any game time when your purchase the base game. They make you buy the base expansion game and additional game time. What predators they are. Sick. That is another story in itself. I hate wow now. Which is why i am here playing this game now. So far so good as far as the game is concerned.

Ive seen lots of similar threads now on delayed payments or SE taking their time with purchases. So i think they are delaying payment of mine till the game time that came with the full version is up.

While possible, if you bought the base game or its expansions, it shows it in the mog station. There is a table with a row of ticks on if you have each expansion or not.



So if you don't see Dawntrail there then most likely the code for it was not registered to your account, or the purchase didn't go through. You can do that via:


As for the "free 30 days" thing, it's worth noting that the "base game" costs roughly the same amount as a 1 month subscription. So effectively, the base game is free and just pays your first subscription fee. However, then it locks you in to paying monthly subscriptions if you want to play, which is of course how they make money from that.

The expansions cost a lot, in contrast, because they see them as a "brand new game". But the latest expansion gives all previous expansions free since all the previous stories are relevant and intertwined with it.

If you got the Complete Edition, this may not be as clear because that is just base game + expansions.

I got the complete full edition, all expansions version and it cost me roughly 35 pounds sterling, UK pound. The 90 day game time that i authorized as a payment was an additional 25 pounds but done in a separate transaction. Which has not gone through yet.

I suspect they are holding on to this ability to take the money but are not doing so. I noticed that when i got the new client, the one that is not the trial version, i was able to see the remaining game time in the lower right of the screen.

it doesnot charge your card unless your gametime is up .the charge that you are seeing is temporary charge that payment processors do to see if your card is valid . and that charge shoukd not be more then 1 dollar or euro or pound depending on your currency

My own experience with this: I am also still on a free 30-day period and renewed my subscription on Day 1 of coming back to the game, but it has not charged me yet - I'm presuming this will happen at the end of my free period. The only thing it's charged me for is the (2) additional retainers I added - those were charged immediately.

If you have game time remaining on the account it won't charge you for the new sub until you run out iirc.
