Uhh is this "content takes time to complete" in the playing of sense or making of sense?

Uhh is this "content takes time to complete" in the playing of sense or making of sense?

I mean this is pretty tone deaf after all the years of taking away content, disgustingly simplifying jobs, and overall less reason to actually log in everyday.
They really expect us to rotate 3 dungeons on expac launch for months and then we only get 1 new dungeon?? I understand that dungeons are just corridors that different set dressings. But at least allow me give me some variety for expert roulette.
Rn it's either you get the story based one, the obnoxious mascot one that randos die to constantly (no, they're not first timers) and the semi okay one. That's it.
The game has been doing quite well since ShB and even moreso in EW. We should have gotten an increase of the content we receive per patch.
EW relic grind was a joke and they took away exploratory content (they're bringing it back) so you really had nothing to do than to rotate the same small set of dungeons ad-nauseum.
The combat itself could have tide over the lack of content if the jobs were less cookie cutter and actually felt unique. The combat has way less depth than they think it does.
Oh I was a former WoW player that left in WoD, I am aware of how horrendous the patch schedule used to be. The point is they did make efforts to fix that issue in Dragonflight and have kept to it pretty well all throughout DF and now TWW because they addressed the issue which is something SE needs to maybe consider looking into. I know they are constantly trying to hire based on Live Letters but perhaps they need to look into other means to do so or adjusting the production pipeline to fit what they have.So that's 2 months for WoW. There used to be a 3.5 month gap for FFXIV in the past but now they account for holidays to give a better work-life balance, making it about 4.5 months.
What you may not be aware of is that their content cadence used to be notoriously bad. People used to say WoW took 9 months or more for a major content patch. What changed was they recently bought a company with 100 employees and reassigned those employees to work on WoW.
The reason they had to do this was because they were actually struggling to hire (good) developers. I don't know why that is - maybe their situation in the media at the time, but also there was a practical issue that to work for them people have to live in close proximity. The benefit of buying it was they were all in close proximity, ready to go, and had experience.
So you see, WoW was in a much worse boat patch cycle-wise before you played it. So if Square Enix were to replicate their methods, they would want to look to buy out a game developer with 100 employees so they can skip things such as hiring and (to some degree) training.
We asked for most of those changes since 6.0
And now we have 7.0 and people again ask us to wait for 8.0
Will we then have to wait until 9.0 when 8.0 releases? Yes, it needs time to develop and plan new content but there comes a point when you have to look at your projects and at your playerbase to compare what you are developing with what people are asking for or what you are not offering. And if there is no longer an overlap then you reach a point when you have to cancel some plans and change directions, because finishing the work on stuff that no one, or barely anyone, wants to play is just a waste of ressources.
average answer from Mr. Yoshi P.. "Please look forward to it"
However.. I don't trust Mr. Yoshi P on this one, Yoshi P has bad record creating activities that will take longer time to finish, bozja which is breath of fresh air isn't type of content that we want it had a horrible execution on grinding mater, people so hungry that they loved it because it is bad is better than worst or you could say "this mode make me play my favorite game more".
F2P games, full price games, other mmos figure it out.. FFXIV require more work than EW and DT content combined to make the game much more fun.. you can actually loose track of your time spending it with digital world, it is just too much to believe him at this point.
for those people who like the story, I do say story will not recover any time soon, for those who like new content.. we will not get any new content it will be copy paste with little sparkles on top.
I don't expect much and I am not interested.. developers history to stick with the basics and my guts tells me nothing will change.. FFXIV is just a cash cow for Square enix and I want to find a better game to waste my best time with, sadly not anytime soon.

"Do not retire"
This means the subscription numbers are dwindling. That's good, maybe then it will mean more effort into keeping the players.

If the devs actually waited until a noticeable unsub wave to react to feedback, they are already too late. Some of us are never coming back. Especially not after giving up hard-to-get housing. MMO veterans stay because of an emotional attachment to the game and the trust they have in developers and when those are severed, they are gone.
The time to listen to complaints is when players still care enough to pay for the game.
But Yoshida said that I should unsub/uninstall the game and comeback a year or two to catch up "lots of content " that of course aren't going to be msq+dungeons+trials+1-2 raidsSo recently Yoshida had an spot at Melbourne International games week and mentioned they're making content that will take time to complete, and to please "please not retire guys", here's the link if anyone is even interested at this point.

I'd be happy with them just releasing Bozja/eureka content with the expansion and just updating it every month with a new map and raids lol.
