Improve targetting system was in all caps and in the center because nothing has frustrated me more in FFXIV than targetting something behind what i clicked on, or it being impossible to target who i want in frontlines pvp.

"Already a thing" do you mean in announced upcoming patches? because my vulnerability stacks and other debuffs are still positionally locked to my buff bar, and I cant move my mp on top of my job gauge while having my HP below it.
Abort cutscene is far more important than abort combat during a queue pop. I permanently missed some Dawntrail cutscenes and have no way to know what they were because this option does not exist.

Is there a reason you think that real purple dyes will never be an option? I ask with tears in my eyes after seeing several recent armors with the undyeable colors I want but not the style of outfit

I agree the targeting system should be better. It's so annoying.
    • Target in order of actual proximity.
    • Target lowest HP-to-highest for tanks (or make it configurable) because lower HP more likely needs extra enmity.
    • Target highest HP-to-lowest for DPS because you want to use your big attacks on enemies with most HP left (or make it configurable).
    • Option to use a circle as well as a cone (yes this would get things behind you even more, but this is good for tanks when enemies surround them).
    • Cycle through the enemy list, then cycle through enemies not in the enemy list (to account for when you haven't pulled yet on a tank).
    • Cycle through the enemies not in the list but that are close (within the cone) on a tank (or make it configurable) in case there are mobs near the party that you didn't get enmity on.
    • Configurably target enemies that are actively casting an interruptable attack as priority (yes, contrary to belief, many enemies do this in dungeons).
But do I expect SE to do this? No. But you never know. I was surprised they even added cone targeting.

I specifically meant you can split your Enhancements (aka buffs) from your Enfeeblements (aka debuffs) or adjust the priority of them.

I personally like them together with "Left Justified I" so if I have debuffs, they appear in front of the buffs making it immediately obvious I'm in trouble.

The HP/MP can't be split. So I put the cross over half of it only.
Abort cutscene is far more important than abort combat during a queue pop.
The queue pop appears over the top of the cutscene and if you enter the duty, it automatically aborts the cutscene. Same in battle really.

But as one poster said this doesn't apply if you are on a different job than the one you queued as. I can't really relate to that because I wouldn't put myself in such a situation and if I did, I would probably just take the penalty and continue the cutscene.
I permanently missed some Dawntrail cutscenes and have no way to know what they were because this option does not exist.
You can re-watch cutscenes at The Unending Journey at an Inn. It has a list of cutscenes for each quest and for each dungeon. Usually the cutscene will be tied to the quest but in some cases they may be part of the dungeon, so you can check both.

I didn't really think about it because from my point of view, there are purple dyes and there is even an entire section dedicated to purple dyes.

All of them except the general-purpose one do seem like overly dark or overly light shades, so maybe you have a point. My guess is they did it this way due to the lighting. They choose colors very carefully in this game based on what will work and contrast well. They may be able to do more now due to the graphics update, we'll have to see.

Exactly. This impacts every single player in the game, every day. Yoshi P will kick himself for not having improved his own gameplay targetting experience sooner if he ever gives it the love it needs. Easily some of the best value for the dev time it should take.

I CAN?! -- OMG I CAN! THANK YOU!!!!! Learning this made me so happy! Hope hp/mp will get this treatment some day.

    Sadly, the unending journey didnt have the cutscene I missed. The entire plot thread it was on completely disappeared too so either it was forgotten, or i missing its closure ;_;

They are all pastel shades or pinks. None of them scream the color purple as a statement. Metallic "purple" is half pink half purple. I have managed to create 7 actual purple glam items with it... after previewing 4000+ items in the game and testing 1 at a time over 6+ years.

The devs were originally aiming dyes for a specific color aesthetic, which did not keep up with the story progression or all players' interests. Not all of us want to dye our gear as part of the ARR town guard colors.

Furthermore, the dye system was originally expected to only ever be applied to cloth/leather/mat materials. Metallic fantasy armors like DRG artifacts need more vibrancy in the color to look their best, which is opposite of the original color dye pallet.

Test dye to see what I mean. Idyllshire ilvl240 Hellfire Armor of Fending. It enables a vibrant heroic fantasy metal armor look. Hellfire Mail of Striking uses the same model, but the code for the surfaces was leather/cloth. Nobody uses the Striking version because "Metal" armor parts look like cosplay foam rather than functional armor. I suspect that was when their direction changed, but the dye system didnt keep up.

At least one heroic dev recognized how good purple accents on black can look. Thunderyards Silk coat of Casting. It looks AMAZING. I want to do THAT to other armors, but there is no purple dye... EW's Manusya/monstrorum items used the same purple so the system can support it.
