Rise Against - TorchesThe angels dance like feathers float, they're here to see and to be seen,
The clock strikes two, the music slows and each one slowly dons their wings,
Once outside they all pair off and hand in hand they leave
But I'm still waiting, yeah, and I'm still waiting
I find it particularly annoying because I'm just getting started in the game, and during this most impressionable time, I'm subjected to the same annoyingly repetitive event song in all 3 nations as I travel around. I want to hear each nation's song and be able to reminisce about the old days.
When loading into an event zone it should play through once and then transition back to the regular music.
I love the event music and chocobo music.
It's by far the worst game music I've ever heard. It's like I've been warped into some demented version of a 70s games show which time has forgotten.
I think they got the Summerfest music just right in FFXI. The one we have in FFXIV isn't bad, but it's way too prominent when it's supposed to lay nicely in the background. It doesn't help that it's so short either, so you hear the same thing over and over. It's exactly the same case with the chocobo music.
I don't think Uematsu made the track especially for the summer event, though (it's used in Ul'dah's opening cutscene). I think they just went through the music archive and found the song most suited for a summer event.
