Focusing on a new MMO is just a much bigger risk and much more difficult than it would be to actually try and make XIV work better.

If I am honest though, no amount of direction change is really going to overcome the sheer lack of care put into some of the fundamental and core parts of this game.

It'll only manifest in a newer game, and to a much more detrimental degree, IMO.
