I do find it quite fascinating because, at least in my experience, support mains in any game usually have a few DPS they can play but DPS players never do the same with support.thats something SE hasnt figured out yet.. that if a job isnt fun.. or somehow rewarding... no one wants to play it. and I agree, someone who mains DPS is unlikely to pick up healer because its a mindset, and trying force that square peg into a round hole just has never worked.

Many of the others playing tanks in roulettes are often just new/returning players that are tank mains (but only do story content). Plus, a lot of people will level their tanks jobs for completionist reasons despite not being good at them.
This is just the game really. Most dungeon tanks aren't likely to be that good - they never were in the past, and if they are any good now it's probably due to them being simplified/easier to understand. Getting more casual tanks into dungeons doesn't really make a difference and suits the game anyway tbh.
Anyone that seriously wants to farm materia would probably do hunt trains, or they can also do PvP or buy it.
Logic. I think you lost it.Everyone has kind of proven my point here. I don't even play dps and I think it's stupid. Those "rocks for materia" save you an assload of money. I play a sage...so what? I can't do the content without a tank and some people to actually kill things so how am I better then them? What this actually encourages Is bad tanks and healers queuing for the rewards when they'd be better suited on a dps. So it actually makes runs worse.

Why do you want to be rewarded for playing the easy classes that everyone plays?![]()
If I instant queue as a DPS and it's not in need I cancel my finder.

Alliance Raid, Normal Raid, Trials often having need of DPS...
Often Alliance raids when forming you get people on where you get both the extra reward onto DPS/Heals/Tank all in one as in collecting players... often queud in as DPS with bonus and then later on noticing Tank or Heals is needed in the same roulette type, but as you have put your ticket in, you will get additional reward over the 3 job types.
Healers are boring because they spend most of their time spamming a single offensive ability.
It's a fundamental design issue I never encountered in any of the other MMOs I've played and one that's easily remedied by giving them more offensive abilities and/or changing how damage is structured in the average encounter so they actually need to use their GCD healing buttons outside of emergencies.

I jump on healer for AIN for roulettes for the materia and fast queues. Main is DPS. I'd rather play healer on lower level content than my main because I get annoyed at not having all my abilities. I also regularly play tank. Not everyone only sticks to their favorite job.
