    Giving up

Redundant theme but posting anyway. Giving up Savage for now. Waiting 4 hours for a party to fill is just wasting too much time when I could just be doing anything else with my life. I used to not be a doom and gloomer, but this tier has been bad for Party Finder, and there's nothing else to do. Questioning whether to stay subbed or not.. makes me sad to just pay a sub to keep housing. Just thought everyone should know. Not feelin' it lately.

While it’s fun and easy to write people off like this, statistically, there are 26 others who feel the same way but do not say anything.

If you look at all of the break / quitting threads and their comments, it amounts to a very large number.

Many people, including myself, who are on break or have quit, have done so, not by our choice.

This is why we comment, it keeps reminding the devs that there are problems that need to be addressed.

for every person disliking something in public, there are 18 that like it without telling everyone

I dont see issues with pf, it fills fast on my dc and has a better clearrate than my static :c

When you compare it to the size of the playerbase (NA estimate is somewhere around 200-250k at the moment), that "very large number" is actually nothing. It's the proverbial grain of sand on the beach.

The only real large-scale data we have comes from Steam logins, and here's where we're at comparing DT with the past couple expansions 2 full months after release:

DT --> Around 48% retention (52% of players no longer logging in from DT start)
EW --> Around 43% retention (57% of players no longer logging in from EW start)
ShB --> Around 49% retention (51% of players no longer logging in from ShB start)

That puts DT right in the neighborhood of ShB (which is generally viewed as the "best" expansion by the most people) and quite a bit better than EW (which had a 92% metacritic rating). The reality is that DT is not experiencing anything different than the standard cycles this game has had for years.

Source? Because that retention, when we know barely antyhing about that and only SE has the data seems like wishful thinking at best. Especially when anyone can go to steamcharts and find that the average population right now is below/equal to the one we can find during EW patch lull, let alone how this is happening when we are not even one full patch into the expansion which is quite telling.

DT is suffering from the EW extended patch cycles, the stagnation of most of the content and the formula and an msq unable to carry the problems the other content of the game have.

Is paying a subscription just to air grievances really worth it, though?
Unless you still play the game actively, are you really getting your money's worth
I'm not saying people can't criticize or share what they don't find fun about the game, but if you're no longer playing it and giving the company money it seems counterintuitive

Housing is very much a trap to keep people subscribed, though it seems with the previous disaster the auto demolition has been suspended so it would be a good time to take a break and see if you feel better afterward

Honestly it kinda seems like to me the forums are in a similar boat, since you need an active service account to even post right?
I could be wrong there, but I had seem a few posts referencing it

Many factors come into play, such as what fight, what prog point, what server/data centre, etc.

I'm a player on Chaos, I have to go to Light to do any sort of raiding.
It was one of those self-fulfilling prophecies where everyone exoduses to another DC to get a party.

I find it amusing when my entire party is from Chaos.

I hope we get a cross-DC PF in the future, even though it's been said it could be years.
Honestly, unpopular an opinion as it may be, locking DC travel completely would also "liven" up home data centres for many.

I'm on Aether. Supposedly the raid DC. It's just bad. Gave up getting my weekly clears. Couldn't manage to fill a party last week, not even gonna try this week...
