You might not see this, but worth a reply. The tomes from both halves of the last 2 part event are still tradable until this next one goes live. So for now you still potentially have a list of things to choose from(including some that are tradable), but they will become firework fodder in a few days.
So... having determined that these events aren't targeting veteran players, you come to the baffling conclusion that it simply has no target audience? But genuine question who are these events actually for at this point
For an average “i didnt start 14 in DT” player they will have the majority of the items on here. Shisui is a guaranteed drop and both high level mounts can be soloed for less work than how many tomestones these mounts cost
So the big reward for vets is another earring you can barely see. And all these rewards can be obtained by basically just doing your daily’s if you even still do them because they continue to give the tomestones to duties that are already heavily weighted by the inherent biases of the system. Like I joke but has literally ANYONE struggled to ever get CT to pop. So you aren’t incentivising the vets to do anything because they get stuck in CT against their will regardless of the event and sprouts aren’t struggling to pop it
Like who does this event benefit? Is there really a significant base of players who would have unsubbed but decided to resub for a doughnut earring
Maybe, and I'm just spitballing here, could it be aimed at players that haven't gone to the trouble of farming for these items?
If it’s for people who aren’t struggling for new content then putting it out to fill patch lulls doesn’t make any sense. If you offer nothing to people who are struggling for a reason to play then you won’t get them to stay and people who are already happy staying subscribed to do their daily’s get a few rewards that are easier to unsync then actually do this eventSo... having determined that these events aren't targeting veteran players, you come to the baffling conclusion that it simply has no target audience?

So they role it out consistently in long patch lulls to keep people subscribed but then offer people who are considering unsubscribing not much for the trouble instead always biasing the duties towards acting like sprouts are struggling to pop CT on a daily basis
So again I’ll ask who is the magical market here
They are for actual real live casual players who otherwise would have a hard time getting the items available. I have a friend who used the last moogle tome event to get a Fae Gwibber she has wanted for aaaaaaaaaages but was never able to get because farming for it wasn't something she could do. You may not believe that, but players like that really do exist and they really do enthusiastically play FFXIV.
I have everything on that list except the new glamour items, and have no interest in them, so I'll pick up MGP and maps because the way I play, it's easier for me to solo EXs for mounts than it is to get MGP.
I'll be busy doing significant farming on this one.
- Innocence mount : Don't do anything above Normals unless solo'able so this
- Alte Roit mount : Higher than Extreme. Supposedly solo'able but havent' tried it since was only in Artifact DT gear and failed. Maybe can now, otherwise farming for this.
- Hades Barding : Can't solo the EX and the crafting drop isn't worth the gil
- Hairstyle : Drop rate sucked back when DR was current content, and unless you join a Discord good luck getting a run done now. Farmin'
- Earrings : If I still have the energy, last item to get.
So I guess a lot of it for casually skilled (adding the content since everybody and their brother and sister call themselves causal here) players who avoid the more stressful content.
When they gave out the Warrior of Light Legendary TT card i was hoping they would do one per Trove, but i guess not. Never gonna get that Cecil Harvey card, only one i am missing
If you're avoiding those because you're afraid you can't pull your weight in a party situation, don't be concerned by that. I don't know what the skill level is for soloing that kind of stuff, but at this point in a party the skill threshold for Exdeath probably isn't much more than "can you move out of AOE circles and move to the centre of the arena when a particular skill is cast?"I'll be busy doing significant farming on this one.

I don't recall anything challenging in Innocence either, which I think I tried late in Shadowbringers' patch cycle or maybe early Endwalker, though I was lucky and got the gwiber early on that one.
O4S has been soloable on the not-DRK tanks since Endwalker, and someone posted a DRG solo more recently. It should be fairly easy(albeit long) at this point on PLD/GNB/WAR even in AF gear.
